whats on your Tabletop???

We are opting to have classy plastic ware oposed to china plates and so on....In this case we would just have our centerpieces on the tables...do you think thats too plan???

What are you ladies having on each table??

Re: whats on your Tabletop???

  • that's all we had. We used fancy plasticware also. Our tables had white tablecloths and our centerpieces, which were glass bowls with blue and white polished stones topped with white candles. We also had our favors, which were glass bottles filled with birdseed.

Other than that, tables were bare until guests sat down with their food. It looked fine, in my opinion.
  • thanks, Ive been looking at table decor pictures and I never see it this way so I appreciate your response
  • Pics in married bio.  We just had centerpieces and napkins but once people had their plates and drinks, the tables were full.

  • PIB of my tables. I set up each place setting in a small picnic basket, which made my tables look full and finished. HTH!

Here's a mock-up of our tables with premium plastics - plateware and all.  I will also have centerpieces, table numbers, 2 votives and photo frames.

  • We used silver plastic ware and "fancier" plastic plates too. I wrapped the plastic ware in napkins and paper band stamped with our initials. I put one set of silverware at each place setting. (Guests got their plate and cup at the buffet.)

In the center of the table, we had a bright green overlay (on white tablecloth) and one of two centerpieces (That were either tall or wide).  We also had 5 small votives in mason jars around the centerpiece on the "tall" tables.

In this picture, you can see the silverware roll, votive and overlay (the centerpieces hadn't been placed yet though).

I think our tables had plenty on them. I prefer a simple, clean look. It was especially "full" once people sat down with their food and drinks.
  • We had a candy bowl or two wine bottles, a wine menu, a bar menu and napkins on each table.  PIB.
  • I'm doing my centerpieces on each table which are large mason jars with sticks and hydrangeas. Each setting will be a plastic water glass, a plastic champagne glass and I will have the plasticware wrapped in napkins with tissue paper flowers wrapped around each napkin ontop of the plate. Similar to the picture below. I was going to use paper napkins but ended up renting them after getting a super good deal.
