What are your thoughts on dance lessons

I just signed me and FI up for dance lessons.  He thinks he has no dance skills.  But from our little dancing in the living room from time to time I think he has potential.  So we start our classes next Sunday just to dip our toes in the water and see how much time we'll need to get it right.  I put this poll together to see what other people are planning.

    A friend of mine is a dance instructor and has offered to give us lessons. In our three years together we have never danced together. Neither of us are dancing kind of people. And I think I have 2 left feet. That's part of the good of having a bluegrass band because there is no rhyme or reason to dancing to bluegrass. But I do want a nice first dance though while everyone is starring at us.

    Right!  We're both not the type of people who like to have the spotlight on us so I think this will help us relax once we are sure of what we are going to be doing.

    I'm torn. I don't want it to be too stiff and choreographed, but I don't want to feel like I'm at a middle school dance. I would like to take lessons, but not sure FI will go for it. No matter what, it's always a beautiful moment :)

    We are taking lessons but not until mid June so things are fresher in our minds.

      We did a fox trot lesson at our local community center, It was an hour a week, for 6 weeks. It was fun, We didn't perfect the fox trot  but we will do ok I think.

    I want to do dance lessons. I am terriblr at dancing so FI and i thought we would try some lessons this summer. In the meantime, i plan on taking zumba and cardio funk dance classes to loosen up and get some rythym. FI was on a hip hop dance team in college so he has way more rythym than me lol

    Fi has always said to me that he'd take dance lessons with me if it would get me to "work out".  I danced through middle and high school, so I havbe rhythm, but I think dance classes are a fun date night!  If only my schedule would allow me to take classes on a regular basis.

    FI and I are planning on taking lessons. We have to find a place close to home. He did not want to at first, but we were dancing and goofing off one day and we realized we have no skills! I don't want it to look like a high school dance, or be giggling and awkward.
