**tygirl**

Random mod question for you:
So obviously, vendors aren't allowed here.  Is there any Knot rule about obsessive, shameless blog promotion?  There is a knottie on a national board who has her blog url in her sig, posts it again at the end of every post, and on almost every post she replies to, says "I'm having a free giveaway for that over on my blog...".
Maybe I am just a super-grouch, but it FEELS like constant advertising, and it makes me want to claw my eyes out.  So tell me there's some knottie rule that can make it stop?  I like that board, I don't want to have to stop going over there...  =(

it's called "spamming", which is not allowed...but if it's with legitimate posts..it walks a fine line, and would probably have to consult with knot gods....that's my ex-mod two cents.

It mostly IS with legitimate posts, although the ones that really get me are the "Please help me make my own monogram" threads that get replied with, "Right now I'm having a giveaway on my blog for a free monogram" and that's it.  Does that qualify as a legitimate post? =)

And Jostina, I am glad I'm not the only one!

no! that does not count as a legitimate post....if the give-aways have anything to do with wedding-related, she becomes a vendor, and shall be banned. free or not, she's advertising, and taking away from the paying vendors that DO advertise on the knot. she's competing with them, and breaking the rules.

i'd contact the mod on that board, or have tygirl do it :)

Jenn is correct, it's considered spamming and is not allowed.  If you want you can either let me know and I can contact Knot Annie or the mod of the board about it and one of them can either warn the person or flat out ban him/her (their discretion) or if you want to contact the mod or Knot Annie you can do so as well.  Whatever you feel comfortable doing.

How do you contact Knot Annie?

Phew, I'm glad it's against the rules.  It's driving me crazy!
