Did I register wrong?

So...we have a small wedding (40 - 50) and I made a registry about 20 gifts deep (never heard of people bringing gifts to a wedding - just envelopes) when my friends mentioned I should "just in case". The items were all different prices - 5 less than $20 items, 10 items from $20 -$40, 4 from $40 -$60 and one over $100.

I looked at my registry today and ALL of the $20 or less gifts are gone. Did I register wrong? Should I be registering for more under $20 items for the wedding than I did? Any suggestions if that's the case for Bed Bath and Beyond? Thanks!

    No I think registering for a variety of price points is good. Sometimes, groups of friends or co-workers want to go in on a bigger ticket item together and some people just choose to spend more on wedding gifts. I know in the past, I have sometimes bought 5 or 6 of the cheaper items that go together (like a bunch of kitchen utensils) as my gift. This may be why the cheaper items are gone.

    I don't think there is a wrong way to register.... you can add more if you want to. I would suggest towels (its always good to have extra) and they can be purchased individually in that lower price range.

    Other things you could add are any kitchen gadgets - like spoons, cutting boards, pot holders, kitchen towels... the list goes on (You can see the sticky at the top for a complete list of ideas).

    I agree with PP.  I think that looks like a good break down of gifts to price points.  The last wedding I went to, I got them three things to get to the amount of money I wanted to spend, and that's probably what happened with your smaller items.  Considering people in your area tend to give cash for gifts, I wouldn't worry too much about it.  You can add things if it seems like a lot of people are going the gift route.  My MOH is watching ours, but we live in an area where almost everyone gives a physical gift.

    Unless there's something (like towels, and you can get nice ones at BBB) that you still really want that's in the lower price range, I wouldn't really re-register for more cheap stuff. I also registered at BBB,and I kept prices in mind and did a large range. I also really thought about what we needed and wanted. 

    This is a personal preference, and keeping in mind that all gifts are appreciated and not expected, but I would rather get money and pool that to spend that on the nicer things on my registry than try to keep adding inexpensive things that I don't need (because at a point you will run out of things under $20 that you really want).

    Yeah, that was my concern kind of too. I couldn't really think of more things under $20 that we need/want but wasn't sure if that's the price range I was supposed to stick within the first time.

    alot of times i get a smaller item, and put cash or a gift card with it. That way the bride and groom actually have something to open!

    Is it possible your friends are trying to hint to you that there is nothing left to buy you on the registry in the price point they want?

    That was my concern too. Not to be "that bride" though but I can't imagine heading to a wedding with a $20 gift (and among my friend's....I'm the "poor" one). To me....that really doesn't feel like a good gift/amount so I made sure to have a variety. There are like 10 items between $20 - $30 so

    We're having a small, intimate event so it isn't like this isn't someone we're close with. I went ahead and added more stuff under $20 - just random crap to fit the price point.

    I wouldn't add random crap just so you have that price point, if you're the "poor" one and would spend more than $20 on a gift, then leave it the way it is.  It is possible people bought the small items and paired them with a gift card, or someone could have combined all the small items to give as one gift.  It also sounds like registries aren't the norm in your area, so I'm guessing no one will be heartbroken if they can't give you a gift from your registry.  I'm guessing you're not having a shower?  If you're having a shower, then do try to find things $30 and under, but don't register for things that you don't want.
