Marriott Saddle Brook

Did any of your guests stay there?

If so, I am curious what time your breakfast was set up (if you had provided a complimentary breakfast)?

I am about to flip out because they are telling us the best they can do is 10am to 12pm the next morning because the space is booked earlier for business meetings.

We have 40+ rooms booked.  I think that's too late for a breakfast to start, no? Wouldn't the older guests prefer 830 or 9am start?

They are seeing what they could do to help us, but would you find 10am to be too late, worst case scenerio? My fi and I are paying for this so to possibly confirm 50 or more guests and wind up with less show up would really bother me.

Did you definitely want a private breakfast?? when I went there the other day, to talk to them about booking my rooms, they told me they can give out breakfast vouchers to the guests as well and we'd only pay for what they use...this is about $14 a person she said for the hot buffet.  That way, they can eat whenever they wanted...just a thought...

Oh, that's interesting.  Do you think it starts whenever we want if we go with that option? We were looking at $21.95 pp for the breakfast and that would be a nice savings also.

Well it's offered the whole time they have breakfast available.  You don't get a private area, I don't think they'd move tables around for a large party, it's basically just the regular breakfast buffet they have for all hotel guests, but your guests would get a voucher so it's charged to your room when used, not theirs.  I liked this option cause if people don't want to stay for breakfast, you don't pay for it.

I wouldn't do any earlier... if you think about it- how many of your friends will be getting up earlier then 10am after a long night of heavy drinking? If you make it earlier you will have very few show up.

Oh see I thought from your explanation, we'd have to pay when we get the vouchers. You only pay for the vouchers that are used afterwards?

I will have to ask when we call back later, thanks!

I'm also kind of pissed off that we are paying $700 for a shuttle bus and the other wedding doesn't have a shuttle bus.  So help them if they try to jump on ours, I swear. But supposedly it only has our last names listed for the bus and doesn't specify the location.

& Wagnerdi, I was at the Venetian yesterday for our final payment. I'm getting so excited.  The outside area looks so great! It wasn't complete when we booked with them.

their older room looks better now that it's getting redone.

Ah damn! I just deleted somehow the whole long thing I had typed...lets see...

Nope, they give the vouchers out to your guests when they check in and you only pay for those who use them.  Also, I asked her if I only wanted certain people to recieve the vouchers, ie: bridal party, parents...could they do that, and she said no problem.  Just let them know who.  They can put them in the OOT bags too if you're doing those.

As far as the shuttle - I've gotten prices from a few other places...all quoting me $800-$850 for 49 passenger busses, so yours isn't THAT bad :) (hey! I'm trying here!!! ) The First Class Limo one is only 24 passanger. Do you know where the other wedding is at?? I'd be so pissed!

Well ours is I believe 25 passenger bus for $705 incl tax and tip.  The Marriott told me that is standard.

Oh don't worry, one of the other weddings is the grand ballroom at the Venetian. So I told the Marriott so help them if they even try to jump on our bus!! Their cocktail hour is at either 630 or 7 I think and ours is at 730 so hopefully it doesn't happen!

oh that's so exciting!!! I can't believe you're only 1 week and 1 day! I'm sure I don't need to tell you, but it feels like yesterday we were talking and your ticker was at like 4 months!
I can't wait to see the newer/older smaller room.  I have to go make the 2nd payment in July...I'll have to take a look then.

Wait, which room are you in??

I'm in the Palazzo room (new room) but I took a peak in the other room and it definitely looks different - the chandeliers are the same as the newer room.

I wasn't sure which room you were in either but they definitely upgraded the older room with chandliers and said they were putting alot of funds into the renovation.

The time really flew - I cannot believe tomorrow I am a week away!!!

We're in the Palazzo room too. I didn't want to insult if you were in the older one (which I knew they were re-doing before we booked, and we could have gotten it a lot cheaper, but i don't think anything they can do to it could possibly compare to the newer one.)

I was asking because they switched the start times by the time we're getting married...OUR cocktail hour starts @ 6:30 and the smaller room ones starts @ 7...that way we're all in and 'shoved in the back' haha before the other one starts filling in...ours also ends @ 11:30, their's @ 12. (assuming there is one in the other room - fingers crossed!!)

I agree that it can't compare either.

I'm going to PM you my name if you are on FB then you can see photos posted from our wedding.

Ours is backwards - they have earlier time and we have later.  Either or was fine with us since we are a Friday, I didn't mind a later time since people work.
