Moving Woes....:(

Sorry girls, I just need to vent!   So I am trying to cordinate my move so that everything will be delivered right after we get married and fly back to our new apt.  But, I am being told no there is no way possible to deliver all my things and furniture until after the honeymoon....OK, why not?  Even if they pick everything up the week before the wedding and it sits in storage a few days, why can't I schedule a time on the day I want for them to deliver it to me?  I'm moving to New York, he's already up there, so now we just have to get my things up there! and packing is frustrating!  Right after the wedding we are spending the night in Atlanta and then flying out the next day.  The plan is to spend a few days in our new place, unpacking and packing for the honeymoon and then leave 4 days later.  And it costs so much to move things!!! I'm trying to get rid of what I can and it's still going to be a tremendous amount!  I haven't even booked a moving company yet b/c I don't know who to go with!   Does anyone know of a good moving company that isn't going to go through my boxes or treat me dishonestly?

When I moved to Atlanta, I used a moving company and my stuff...was FOUR.DAYS.LATE. and... didn't get to my apartment until 11PM! But I didn't have any issues with anyone going through boxes. However, make sure you know what you have to have to get your stuff on their truck. For example, I had things they said had to be boxed or wrapped. I didn't know that until they showed up to move it so I had to use THEIR supplies at THEIR prices. I don't know how much more I paid, but it would have been helpful to know all that ahead of time. I had to wrap my mattress, which i didn't know too.
I would just get as much info as you can from a few companies and try to make the most educated decision.
And you can always page me here and I can maybe help you more. HTH GL!

I wonder if Prince William and Kate are registered at Target?

thank you!!!  I have been researching on line and getting quotes from the high rated companies!  I feel better but still a little stressed.  I finally booked a company this afternoon; one that had recieved no bad reviews from users on several sites and their price is reasonable.  Here's hoping that it all goes according to plan; and that we receive our delivery before the honeymoon so I will have some peace of mind!
