So... I'm rethinking my dress

*sigh*  After so much trouble trying to find shoes to match the dress, I'm sort of not feeling the magic anymore ... or maybe, its that I'm not feeling the magic right now.  I dunno.

Anyhoo ... I've been a lazy slug today (its been raining all day!) and browsing, here's what I've come up with.  I really like the simplicity of this style and its elegance, not so sure about the color, though ...



The downside, it is about $1200 over my budget.  Bahahahaha ....

    The problem with the shoes is that I cannot find any that I like with the dress ... ugh!  Black is too harsh.  Silver is not cutting it.  I found a gray, but it looked like crap with it.

    Lisa, have you been in DSW? Try it, you may find something there. there is a big story in the Democracy Blvd, Bethesda.

    Maybe something gold? or you could be daring and go with a bright color, maybe bright yellow or pink.

    Lisa, forgive me, but I do not remember what type of venue in which your wedding will take place?  Is it inside?  Here's why:  I ended up wearing barefoot sandals--they're like jewelry for your feet--for our beach wedding.  They were sterling silver.   Sorry, I'm a dolt and can't figure out how to post a pic, but the style I wore was  FJ155, at the bottom of the page:

    What a coincidence that you mention gold!  I remembered a pair of bronze evening sandals that are in my closet (I hope!).  I'll pull them out and take a look at them with the dress later today.  Thanks!

    I remember your gorgeous sandals!!  Our venue is an historic inn.  The ceremony and cocktail hour are on a slate terrace, outdoors.  The dinner and dancing are indoors, in the atrium.  I don't think the sandals will work.  But, I'm going to keep them in mind for our next trip to the Caribbean (yay!).  Thanks.

    WTF are you thinking? Changing your dress cuz you can't find shoes to match? You really do have too much time on your hands on the weekends.


    The other dress you posted is lovely, but I love your original dress.

    Go to Amazon.com, click on shoes. You can then select "pumps" or "sandals". Then pick a color. Not sure why silver wouldn't "cut it", but you could probably find something to match. I can't remember if the height of the heel is an issue for you, but you can choose 1) color, 2) heel height, etc, all the way through.

    I also second DSW, I have yet to walk into that place and not find a shoe that meets my needs.

    I was thinking the exact same thing!  Your dress is sooo gorgeous!  I think pretty much any metallic would be fabulous!  And maybe go with more of a strappy sandal so the shoe color isn't a "hey look at me!" kind of thing? 

    I have been stalking zappos.com for shoes as well - they have a great selection.  Or if you are a try them on kind of gal - Nordstroms always has a fantastic selection.  (then you can look for them online for cheaper if the price is scary!)

    OMG OMG OMG ... I am, literally, snorting!!  That made me laugh so loud.  I'm sure my son (who has the day off from school) is wondering what the heck is going on.  You crack me up!  I will execute the Amazon search (I didn't even know Amazon had shoes!).

    Thanks for keeping an eye out for me.  Those aren't quite what I'm looking for -- I'm thinking more sandal than pump -- and really will have to get my butt out the door to tackle the shoe hunt eventually.

    Thanks, again, for your help!  I'll find something.  I've never gone barefoot unless I needed to.  LOL!
