OOT Bags

Everyone is coming from OOT for the wedding, as I am sure is the case for a lot of ladies on this board. I'm unsure if we should do an OOT bag, since I get the feeling many of my guests may be scattered around the strip and  I'm not sure if logistically we could get those bags to their hotels in time. Also, since this is a budget wedding I'm not sure we could afford the potential fees involved for hotels to make sure guests get their bags.

Are a lot of folks doing these bags? If so, how are you handling getting it to everyone? What are you including in your bags? I was thinking a map, water, etc..

Thanks in advance!

I am  hoping that all of my guest stay at one hotel to make dropping the bags off easier .Or I am giving them their bag at the Meet&Greet. I am putting in the bags:
    Personalize water bottles
    map of the strip
Chips or nuts or granola bars
    mints&gum
    wedding itinerary
    personalize shot glass
    small bottle of alcohol
    hand written thank you note
( I am using Marilynfan samples for all of my paper items)

I considered doing one but I decided not to. I think if you have the time and money its a very nice gesture...although not necessary. If you opt not to I don't think anyone will say "wow, i didn't get a goodie bag!" haha

Ditto all of this. It wasn't really in our budget and while we would have liked to, everyone was so spread out along the strip, it would have been a logistical nightmare!

I was also keen to do this at the beginning of our planning, but our wedding has grown in size and our budget hasn't, so I don't think we will bother. Plus as per the above posters, it would be a logistical nightmare with everyone arriving at different hotels at different times.

We sent out poker chips with our Save the Dates and will also be sending a package to everyone attending before we depart, with maps, itinerary, meeting points, etc. I might add in a few goodies as well - but nothing too heavy or expensive. Maybe Vegas luggage tags or lollipops or something...

i plan to do more of a information welcome package. I am making maps of the strip myself and including maps of Caesars(ceramony), Aria(reception) & Planet Hollywood(meet&greet), and am making attraction and free attraction pages with hours of operation & such. I am also doing a "Chadd & Jenny Picks" with all of our favorite things to do on the strip and must-sees and a hand written thank you note. I don't know if our budget will allow for much more beyond that.

I appreciate everyone's feedback. I'm leaning toward not doing them, due to budget and logistics. I've been directing everyone to our wedding website for travel information and things to do and plan to include maps in the invitation. Since our big items are mostly booked, I'm quickly learning how all of the additional small gestures are really adding up in price. I feel better knowing that it wasn't the end of the world for your guests not to get an OOT bag. A BIG THANK YOU!

Same as pp, I considered it but there is no room in the budget or time to put them together. I plan on sending an info packet before the trip with luggage tags I already have materials for.

I originally was VERY excited about doing bags.  That was when we had about 20 people coming to the wedding.  Now there are about 50, so...we're going to have to reconsider also due to our budget.

OOT was not even something FI and I considered mainly because EVERYONE is staying at a different place.

We're getting married at the Wynn and the only people staying there are my parents and FI's step-brother, then FI's dad & step-mom are staying at Encore.

Our other guests are staying at MGM, Luxor, Monte Carlo, Mirage, Statosphere, Holiday Inn(off the strip), Bills, and Harrahs

We weren't going to do OOT bags at first, but we just couldn't bring ourselves to just leave it be! LOL  (Its the Southern in us - we just have to give Lagniappe!)

So we're now doing "Welcome to Vegas" Bags with a touch of San Francisco (Chocolate) & Louisiana (Pralines) thrown in for good measure along with the welcome brochure, bottled water and Asprin.

I really like Encore's Luggage Tag idea, but dread bringing up lest FI decides to add something else in the bag - becuase you know who's going to be the one sitting up all night in the hotel room putting them together - don't you?!? LOL

Good Luck GuamiBear - and don't worry if you skip all the extra work - these things aren't mandatory!
