I see you are selling your photo booth web cam-- can you tell us how the photo booth went?

Honestly, I LOVED the pics I got from the photobooth, I just wish our guests had used it more!  Turns out, no one wanted to leave the dance floor ... but you win some, you lose some. Overall, I am very happy with the way things turned out.

    Random thoughts ...

    *  I would not reccommend this to do the guestbook, as we tried to do.  Turns out, the white balance gets a little screwy, so we couldn't read a lot of what people wrote.  If you have someone there who can babysit it and make sure it looks great, you might get a better outcome.  Also, the laptop tends to get jostled by tipsy folks, so someone to fix it would be great.  Our pics keep migrating to the left - but they are no less funny.

    *  This was super-easy to set up, and John at Party Booth (www.partyboothapp.com) was very, very good with customer service.  The day before the wedding I was trying to get the program to download, and there was a payment issue - he was very quick to respond, and I was quite pleased with the level of customer service.  I should mention that we got married on a Sunday, so all of his responses were coming on a Saturday.  My fault for waiting that long, obviously - but he was still great.

    *  I would reccommend asking someone to kind of direct traffic.  Even though we had written instructions, people didn't take the time to read them early-on.

    *  Props/costume items are a huge bonus.  Of course, most of them ended up on people in our pics from the dance floor.

    *  Best tip:  wrap your keyboard in saran wrap a couple times over.  People have to press the space bar to activate the pictures being taken - this prevents spills that can send your laptop to be fixed.

    *  Proper lighting is important.  We ended up buying some lights from Home Depot (because it was the closest store to our venue - probably could get them cheaper at Wal-Mart or Target).  We bought the lights that had three separate lights on them, that could be adjusted.

All in all ... for the lamps, program, and webcam, we spent about $150.  Props/costumes are extra, but not critical (and I have seen others selling their leftovers from their wedding).  I have a prop/costume box that I keep in my basement, so I probably only spent $20 on some extra stuff to add to it for the wedding.

Any questions, don't hesitate to ask.  I'd do it again in a heartbeat!

Thanks for the review! That's really helpful to know. I'm going to have to think more about it...
