New York-New York City

New Yorkers - ( help us create a night to remember )

Thanks for your help so far..we have settled on The Russian Tea Room and Waldorf Astoria after our wedding but for night time we are looking for something a little less formal.

But for night time we are thinking for something a little less formal but still very special. Perhaps Rockefeller Centre? altho unsure about the restaurants in there? Our son will be with us and he is 12 so again I guess there maybe an issue about certain bars etc.

Please could you advise?

THe restaurant that is right at the ice rink in rock center is all seafood....i've never eaten there but it's nice.  That's the only restaurant with a view of the rink if that's what you were looking for.

Del Frisco's steakhouse is around the corner on 6th and 49th and is outstanding.
There's also a Magnolia Bakery on the corner across from that !!!!

    Thanks LL,

Could you recommend any places that have city views ( and again are suitable for a 12 year old )

    Cheers

The top of the marriott marquis...if i remember, the room rotates.  Pretty sure it still does that.  so it rotates and you get to see teh whole city in the middle of times square.

    Hi all,

Thanks - again in my absence.

The View looks amazing, pardon the pun.

What is the general rule in the city for taking out a 12 year old into bars etc at night time. Can they only go to licensed premises if they are eating as it is in here in Wales?

The evening of our (afternoon) wedding, we went to the top of the Empire State Building! Still dressed in our fancy duds too--so we got tons of smiles and congrats. Plus, it was rainy, so it was totally deserted (well, relatively)--zero line downstairs! You can also pay extra and get up to the teeny 102nd floor for an extra-special (higher) view.

Might be a fun thing to consider, and obviously it's all ages. :)

    Hi Julie,

ESB is a great suggestion it was something that we thought we would do when my son went to bed (we can dream)

We planned for cocktails at the view but any suggestions for a relaxed eatery in the city, but still with something a little bit special to continue celebrating the day

    Thanks

    MM
