Father daughter dance song choice opinions!

Hi ladies, so I need opinions. I rREALLY want my dad and I to dance to "sweet child o mine" by guns and roses... Think it's too fast to slow-ish dance to? Classic rock is what I was raised on and it makes me think of my dad. Plus I don't want anything sappy. Think it will look awkward if we're slow dancing to this song? Anything I've looked at on you tube has those choreographed stuff ( which is SO not us!! We would have to be liqoured way up!) ha ha!! Thanks for the opinions ladies!

    I am not a fan of the choreographed stuff either. Too cheesy for my taste. Plus there is NO way my dad would go for it. Since Fi and I have a daughter we are going to share the father dance and have him dance with her and myself with my father to temptations-my girl. The song selection is mostly for FI and daughter. 

    If you are going to chose the GNR song I would recommend fun dancing and now slow. Im not sure how it would look danced slow too.

    I say dance the way you want to to the song you want to dance.  Nobody is going to say something if you slow dance to that song.  I will probably be dancing to a more upbeat song with my dad and we will be slow dancing.

    You could try a different version of the song. There are lots of covers, some slower.

    I'm thinking of doing the same song! For all the reasons you said. It's just the kind of music my dad raised me on. But my only problem is that it's too long! Like 6 minutes. Finding another version is out if the question, it's just not the song without Slash's guitar and Axl singing. So Im going to ask the DJ if he can somehow condense it. As for your problem, maybe a faster slow dance? That's what I plan on. I can't see myself slow dancing with my dad at all. So, just sway to the beat. I'm sure however you dance to it, everyone is going to "awww" . :)

    Thanks ladies!!! I may ask the dj if there's anyway he can slow it down just a tad, tempo wouldn't be THAT bad to do a slow dance to : whats everyone else doin their father daughter dance to?!

    I live that song!!! Look up the movie soundtrack "life as we know it" . They do a new version of that song at the end, really sweet
