The towers

Hi everyone! I recently got engaged and have been looking at venues in RI. I fell in love with the towers, but I am worried it seems somewhat small! We are looking at about 150 as a guest list, and I know they say they can fit 180 but will it be too crowded?? Will 150 be comfortable? Any advice from towers brides or anyone who has been to a reception there would be so appreciated!!

You will get great advice on here because there are a lot of Towers Brides.I will say that 150 will be tight. Sure they can fit 180 but that seems to be more if you are having a cocktail reception and there is a lot more movement.
It will likely be tight with the tables set up.

We're getting married at the towers next summer and are inviting 180 guests, knowing not that many will attend. However, we are not doing the raditional reception thing. As a wedding photographer myself, I go to way too many weddings and the traditional reception makes evyone's wedding feel the same. When I met with Donna (the assistant coordinator at the towers) she was honest that capacity is 180, but in ordere to be comfortable for a formal sit down dinner you don't want to have more than 160. Other helpful info- my future sister-in-law's mom is a retired event planner and told me smaller spaces help make a party more lively. When you're in a large space, people's energy gets dissipated. Some of her most successful parties a those in slightly smaller spaces. Regardless of size, the towers are perfect for us because we wanted the opposite of a banquet room or raditional reception hall celebration. Good luck on your search!

  • 150 is fine :)
  • thank you everyone! we just really don't want everyone to be crowded into too small of a space. but the view is kind of hard to beat!

The view sold me too. There isn't a "bad seat" in the entire place. Also if you plan to invite 150 you can figure on 20% that might now come.
We are having 120-130 guests and think we will fit fine in the space!

    Thats exactly what I'm thinking!
  • I'm getting married next spring/summer and absolutely love the towers.  I haven't heard back regarding rates.  Can any of you give me a ballpark before I fall too hard for this space?  Thanks a bunch ;)
