B&M Monday

I'm off work today, which is awesome.  What is not awesome is spending it at the DMV, SS office, bank, etc.

I promised myself that I would get our living room cleaned up this weekend, but for some reason the place still looks like a science fair volcano tore through a small village of people out of love.

    love.

I B&M that I made a final to do list for the wedding and it stressed me out so much that I didn't fall asleep until 3-ish.
And my alarm goes off at 5.

</div><div>This was my life the last two weeks before the wedding. :-/  But I had a ton left to do since H had been gone, and knowing that you seem like a planner, I bet you don't have nearly that much left.  Everyone is right when they say, "the little things just won't matter like you think they will."  I wish I had not spent the two days leading up to the wedding in total panic mode over said "little things" but rather relaxed and enjoyed it.  Deep breaths... you have plenty of time to get it all done!

  • My B&M is that I've put off taking birth control as long as I can...I have this irrational fear that it's going to do weird things to me. So I have to go to planned parenthood today since moving jobs switched my insurance, bleh.

My other B&M is that I got pulled over saturday night for running a red light, which I didn't do, by Baylor police, which I'm not sure is supposed to happen, and got a ticket for my registration being overdue...so I'm hoping if I get that fixed today they will drop the ticket. Woot.

  • Haha, rose, Baylor PD are just like Waco PD.  I got my share of tickets from them while I was in school.

My B&M is that I can't remember what time the alarm guy said he would be here, so I don't want to get in the shower and risk missing him.  First-world problems.  =(

  • My B&M is that I got to pick up my dress this weekend (yay - it came in early!) but that it fit like a freaking glove. So much so that I will probably have to ban cheeseburgers in my office/home for fear of even their smell causing me to gain 5 pounds. Ugh. Also, I was between sizes and I ordered up! Also, I have been working out and eating well (ok, fine...better) and I know I haven't gained any weight since I ordered. Frustrating.

Hooray! Do we get to see pics =) ?

My B&M is that we still have no e-pics or even a sneak peek. Is it normal for this to take 3+ weeks?

<div>Depends on your photographer.  Our e-pics were done by H's cousin as kind of a side-job, and it seemed like it took her a little while.  Our wedding photographer doesn't do sneak peaks.  It took a pretty long time relative to some other photogs on this site.</div>

Yep! I learned that my mom isn't that great of a photog though so I'll try to take another and maybe post it on Thursday. :)

Did your photog not give you a time-frame for the editing to be done by? Ours told us 4-6 weeks but that it was normally on the shorter side of that. Our sneak peek was actually almost right at the 4 week mark then she blogged most of them between 5-6 weeks. We still had to wait a few more weeks to have our entire gallery and ordering site.

I feel you, it's been about 3 weeks for us as well. We've gotten 3 back, but I also need one in B&W that I can use for something I need to mail and haven't heard anything yet.

  • Amy, I am sorry you have to spend time at DPS and SS office today.  I was at DPS for over 3 hours, thank goodness SS only took about 20 min.

Thank you to whoever posted the Tiffs Treats living social deal.  I just ordered 5 dz to go up to my office as a I miss you guys treat!
  • Thanks for putting it into perspective! When the shoot was over our photographer told us 2.5 weeks, so I am just a little frustrated that it's taking longer than that. It seems like she doesn't even have sneak peeks, because by the time she puts up preview pics the whole set seems to be done.
  • B&M #1 is people who spell my name wrong in e-mails even though its spelled correctly in my signature. Grrrr. #2 is the weather and it already feeling like 104 in June. Rain please come back!

I got to come in this morning and put a machine together. Bleh.

I have to call our old apartments corporate office back this morning. I left them a message about their questionable collection methods...and she had the apartment office call me back. I'm starting to get really irritated I haven't recieved the refund yet since it's been almost 20 days since someone moved in.

I'm also irritated that I have yet to get my "preview video". He was supposedly in Arlington and was going to drop it off in my mailbox. That was Thursday. I still have no video.

ETA:I just got off the phone with the corporate manager and she informed me that because I hadn't called the apartment manager back I "didn't giver her the chance to explain".
Oh no. I did. The two times I asked people in her office about it prior (including her) and no one would give me an answer. Why now that I've called corporate does she want to "explain her collection policy to me"?

I feel your pain. I've somehow lost 3inches of my hair and now have to figure out why so I can grow it back. Hopefully you aren't stressed about anything.
  • Amy - That happened to me a few years ago and I brought it up to my gyno, and she said it was very possible that the length (and weight) was causing it to fall out. I was growing it out to donate it, and after I donated it, it stopped falling out. I am never going to have my hair that long again, because I'm pretty sure that's what caused it.
Is your hair longer than normal right now?

I think Jason may have been having a brain fart this weekend. I have to send some DVDs of another couple back to him this week. We got our box with all of our videos, but I also found 4 more that were another couple. Oops.

  • I am thoroughly irritated by people who won't pick up their feet when they walk. Are you really too troubled or lazy to pick up your foot while you walk rather than shuffle around the office (or anywhere, for that matter)? You remind me of a pouty child not getting their way.
The only time I do this is when I wear socks on our hardwood floors. But I'm at home and my husband doesn't give an ish. And it doesn't make any damn noise.

My hair is long but not especially so. It's really fine so its not heavy. I have a doublewhammy: hypothyroidism and alopecia areata. Usually 12 months after something stressful, my hair starts falling out in quartersized patches. They told me basically my body becomes allergic my hair. I am fortunate tho because my spots are rarely visible and it only happens every few months now.

Went to the Plano DMV and the line was out the door and wrapped around the building, which is about a 4 hour wait. Screw that.

I don't know why I always forget about that one! I went there to get my first TX license, and you're right--it wasn't a long wait at all. I'll have to hit that up when I get back from NC next week.

  • Sometimes the Carrollton DMV isn't too bad. I usually don't have too bad of a wait there. The last few times in Lewisville were hell but that was trying to get my daughter scheduled for a driving test. UGHHH!! Was there for three days in a row early early to get a drive time scheduled. I wasn't about to take to Carrollton for the driving test since everyone seems to fail it at least twice there. Thank goodness she passed her driving test the 1st time. I'm kind of rethinking changing my name. Just to not have to go to the DMV. Just kidding, but dreading that part of it.
I'm very late in the day for a B&M but I do have one. Everyday between around 3:00- 7:00 pm our internet doesn't work. It has something to do with the heat and how they have the wires/splits run. we had this problem last summer. Very frustrating and Time Warner can't seem to fix the dang problem.

</div><div>The lady I sat next to in the SS office today had just been to the DMV in Carollton (she had her wallet stolen... I felt so bad for her).  She said she waited about 2.5 hours there which was pretty good in her book.  I can wait indoors for 2-3 hours, NBD. What I cannot do is wait outside standing in the heat for 1-2 hours.  Not only am I a wuss, I also have eczema and this would make me flare so bad that I wouldn't be able to sleep for weeks.  Not worth it.  There were a lot of kiddos out and about today to take their driving tests.  The Dallas DMV line was out the door down the side of the building too at 3:15 PM today, so I called it quits.  One day I'll drive out to Rockwall and get it taken care of, but I have to get crap worked out at the SS office first.  After waiting nearly two hours, the woman told me that I essentially don't exist.  My record has a first initial, middle initial, and my last name... but nothing else.  No DOB, nothing. FFS.

  • This is the worst time of year to have to deal with DMV because of all the kids wanting to get drivers license. Too bad we can't do the name change online like we can renew our drivers license.
