Parents Intro Song??

Any suggestions of which song our parents should be introduced at the reception?  I want something upbeat and fun because they are the first to be introduced.  My bridesmaids and groomsmen will be introduced with "Pump It" by Black Eyed Peas, and my fiance and I with "Love Story" Taylor Swift.

Re: Parents Intro Song??

  • Will 30 seconds each of 3 different songs work? or will it create dissonance? Honest questions. Not familiar with these musical introductions.

Anyway, I'd ask your parents. There could be a song that's special to them.

We did "December 1963: Oh What a Night" by Frankie Valli and the Four Seasons for parents and BP.

  • I agree with PP. small clips of 3 songs might sound too 'busy'. personally, i'd just use the beginning of 'pump it'

also, consider that your guests need to hear the announcment over the lyrics. a lot of weddings ive been to, it doesn't sound great. so FWIW Fi and I are going with an instrumental house mix (deadmau5 - 'brazil' or 'strobe')
  • I think u should first ask your parents if they have any particular on which they would like to introduced at the wedding.
