DH and I are going to try to get there next weekend.  Neither of us have been.  Where should we stay?

Well not that I have experience, but when FI went last weekend, they all stayed at Ceaser's.

is the borgata easy to get to the beach from?  it looks amazing, but it seems a bit far from the beaches...

ooh fun!  I'm no help, since I've never been there, but definitely a place I want to go sometime.  That'll be a great weekend getaway!

i lived in atlantic city for 3 years, i had a condo on the boardwalk, which was great. the borgata and harrah's new water tower are in brigantine and so far are the newest as far as rooms. the crowd is also slightly younger and the restaurants nicer. but it is about a 10-15 minute drive to the Atlantic City beach/boardwalk area. They have shuttles to the boardwalk/outlets). If you want to stay by the water, your best bet would be to stay around the middle, for easier access to the different casinos/outlet shops/beach entrances. These would be Caesars, Ballys, Claridge, Trump Plaza, Tropicana. The farther away from the middle, the farther away from the action. But everything is pretty accessible by car, walking, jitneys ($2 each way, travels on the major avenue to each of the casinos), or the beach chair rides on the boardwalk. Things are not far away like Vegas, this really is just one strip of casinos. Don't forget to check out The Pier, which is right across from Caesar's casino. It's a shopping complex that extends from the boardwalk to the Atlantic Ocean and features high end shops, a water and lights show every hour, great restaurants and a fantastic view of the beach and the water.
    Hope that helps!!
