DJ Help!

Hi Ladies!

Well, I had written before about how Jay Edwards was booked on our date and asked for your recommendations. (PS - thanks for all the suggestions!) I also asked Jay for a few suggestions. So here is the short list (your's and Jay's combined)...but I still would like a few more reviews, if anyone has used them:

A-List DJ Entertainment (Asher Grier)
Soundwave (Wes is booked, but Wendy noted Paul was available)
Adam Alexander

We've spoken to each, and they all seem great. FI and I want our reception to be the greatest party - we want the dance floor packed, and the DJ to keep the party started/going, but do not want a "typical" wedding DJ - think too talkative/super emcee-ish/bad wedding DJ :)

My photographer suggested www.djshane.net. She said the weddings she has attended as a guest with this dj have been the best she's ever been to.

We have used White Rose at a Holiday party at work before.  Just to give you an idea, our corporate holiday parties cost 10X as much as my wedding for the same amount of people.  White Rose was an ok dj but we expected more from them.

I would recommend Soundwave.  We are using them in a couple of weeks.  So far we have had a great experience with them.

Lilly -- email me if you want.  :) I think I sent you mine already -- Steve @ Power Entertainment.  He wasn't very talky at all... and played every song that we asked for when we wanted.  He was great and a reasonable price.  Just a side note...  Nicki used white rose... and I thought they did a good enough job.  But she said he didn't really listen to the music choices they spent the time going through (being an out of town bride you can imagine how annoyed she was that she spent her valuable time with a vendor only to have him not listen to what they talked about). The night of the wedding I had to convince him to by Journey (you all were requesting it...) and skip some other songs.  But I remember dancing and having a lot of fun otherwise.  Hope that helps! Good luck :)

I actually used Steve at Power Entertainment and was happy as well- although he did get our last song wrong. This was quickly corrected and we ended up dancing two "last songs". Either way the dance floor was packed and no one else noticed the mistake. His price was also very good (and negotiable).
