Permit for Photography in Parks?

Since the wedding is nice, I'd like to take some of the wedding party photos in a city park. The "wedding permit" season starts April 30th. Does this mean that I don't need a permit or that I'm not allowed to take photos there at all?

It means you'll need to purchase a permit to take photos there.  Usually, with city parks it's no more than $20-$30 dollars.

You could risk it by not buy the permit if ur getting married before April 30th. But print that out or call and verify.

<div>My wedding is in the next week, so before the April 30th time. I was assuming that there would be snow, but now that the weather is nice, I want to take photos outside!</div><div>
</div><div>According to this page it is $103 for Wedding Photography (scroll down). <a href="http://www.toronto.ca/parks/permits/events/weddings.htm" rel="nofollow">http://www.toronto.ca/parks/permits/events/weddings.htm</a></div><div>

Definitely call and clarify!  I'd be likely to pay because you sure don't want to be shut down on your wedding day!

I'm with Vexie - definitely call and find out.  The last thing you want other than being shut down on your wedding day is being ticketed/fined for taking photos there without a permit.

I would call and clarify - depending on the park they may have the gates closed so that you can't easily get in before April 30th.

City Park permits in Toronto are $150.  It's nuts. We ended up taking photos at our venue but the way it works in Toronto is you get a 2 hour slot (which you book in advance)... if you are caught in a  park without a permit it is a $500 fine.
