  There really is no polite way to ask for cash. skip the honeymoon registry.

  You could always try sitting on the sidewalk with your hat next to you outside of your wedding venue. That seems to be a universally understood sign for "I'm begging for your money" - the paypal thing seems a little too subtle. Good luck and enjoy your day!

  We shipped gifts from San Fracisco to Philadelphia.  It cost less than $100 including the boxes and tape and tracking.  It took two weeks because it went parcel post but it is not nearly as expensive as you think it will be.  ftr - most people either had them shipped to our house or gave checks.  Guests are not stupid (usually) and know that you have to get it home somehow.
