  • under 3,000 I'd say.  Beachy island!
  • Sun Palace in Cancun Mexico.  We went in February and it was $4k, but that's because we had to go during school vacation week.  So, if you go in an off time, your flight wouldn't be as expensive.
  • Were thinking about a cruise. From what I've looked at, they seem like they can be quite inexpensive. Depending, of course
  • Here's my review for my honeymoon at Isla Mujeres Palace:

7 day honeymoon total overall cost including spending money was 3100.
  • I think Mexico would be right up your alley. I used AllIncluseiveOutlet.com to do all of my research because they have this nice little took that you can look for what you want and it tells you how many bars/restaurants and what is in included. We ended up booking through a local travel agent but it helped me narrow down resorts. And you can search pricing on there too.

  • We are going to Secrets Silversands in Rivieia Maya for 12 days over christmas/new years. It was like $5600 all inclusive including airfare & travel insurance. I'm sure if you go for less time & during a non-peak time, it could be right around your budget.

  • thanks everybody! very helpful
  • You may be able to do a Cruise rather inexpensively.  We are getting married president's day weekend, and flying any where is insane.  So we found a Cruise to the Caribbean out of New York, total for both of us is $1800.  This may be an option for you!  I know that Royal Caribbean has ports in MD, NY and NJ, so although a bit of a drive for you, it may save significantly on airfare!

    Just a thought!
  • Id Check out secrets resorts or palace resorts. Definitely beachy, and they definitely have rooms in your price range.

A cruise might be nice too, depends which you and your FI would rather do!

    :)

  • We chose Excellence Riviera Cancun. Completely all inclusive (minus the shuttle to and from the airport if you want private and any excursions you want to do). The airfare, tip, tax, drinks, rooms, food, non motorized water sports, etc all included. we got a week for about 2800. Nothing but wonderful reviews for the place, and no kids allowed!
