Manic Botanic & Other Florists

Hello ladies,

I recently went to Manic Botanic to speak with them about doing the flowers for our upcoming wedding. It's been a month now and despite countless emails and phone calls I'm yet to even get a quote. Has anyone dealt with them and had a similar instance?

I really like their work but it is starting to become crunch time. We are getting married in the beginning of September and I am freaking out we won't have flowers! I know it's kind of an overreaction right now but I need some advice!!

Has anyone had a really good experience with a florist in the Ocean City area? Should I think about switching vendors?

Unfortunately I don't know of any florists in your area (I live near Philly), but I would definitely consider switching vendors. If it's been a month and you haven't gotten any kind of a response via email or phone - even if it's just a "sorry we've been super busy with wedding season and all, but we'll have the proposal to you in x number of days/weeks" - I would be a little wary. Check out WeddingWire for some florists in your area that have good reviews and take it from there!

We had the same problem with Gerad's Florist in Pleasantville when we were looking, and our wedding was also in the beginning of September.  I think you're fine as of right now...but I think you should consider switching, or atleast getting another quote (or quotes) from other florists to see if they come in close to what you were going to pay and if they have the same vision as your current flower vendor.

As far as florist in the ocean city area, I can tell you we looked at the following and our wedding was in AC, and most florists will travel.

We went with John from County Seat Florist in Mays Landing...great for budget, did exactly what we wanted and beyond.  He was fabulous to work with!

Betina's is in Galloway and she too has great work...she was a bit higher than we wanted to spend.

Gerads, well I told you they took over a month to get back to us in which we already booked John.  AND they were outrageously over priced.

There is Chesters in AC...Somers Point Florist (down the street from OC...a bit expensive but beautiful arrangements), Art of Flowers, Fishers flowers.  There are quite a few in the area that are good and with varying price ranges.  Hope this helps you!

I would definitely switch to another florist if they haven't gotten back to you in a month. If they don't have time for you now, what's going to happen in September? I do not know of any florists down in your area, but you can do a little research on weddingwire >>clicky<< and read the reviews on there. HTH!

I had a similar issue with them. They were supposed to get back to me with a quote a few weeks after we met with them and we never received anything. I chose not to follow up and we went with Cape Winds Florist in Cape May instead. They were wonderful and did a great job for our wedding.

They are not great at getting back to folks, but will do so eventually.  You can also try Karen at Blooms (also called Country Greenery).  She does very similar work.  Tell her Christy Wyatt sent you!

    Good luck!

Hi, I had the same issue with them so I felt that I should look elsewhere. I don't know where your wedding is or your floral style but we went with Savannah's Garden in Elmer, NJ. Her portfolio is great, she's timely in correspondance and her prices are actaully better than Manic's. We just started working together but I already love her as she seems to get my vision already. http://savannahsgarden.com/
