shocking price differences

I have been calling and email wedding planners (half haven't responded which pisses me off!) and their prices for full package wedding planning are so different. I can't believe it! I've been quoted from $3000- $10,000! Is this normal? Does anyone know the average price for a full coordinator in south florida? There doesn't seem to be anything special in the more expensive ones (one of them even gave me less of there time when they were higher priced!) 

I don't know how you ladies do this, I'm so confused! Sorry if I'm just annoying with all the questions!

    yes, those are fairly high..I don't know any of the knotties on here who have paid $3K for a wedding planner?

    Are you looking for a full on wedding planner or just a day of coordinator? (DOC)

    I'm looking for a full package planner to help with the whole process. My wedding isn't until December 2011 and I'm sure I could plan it by myself but I don't think my parents want to deal with me for the next year if I plan so they suggested it :)

    The average price for the packaging I have received so far is $5000 and that just seemed huge! But I could just have no idea what I'm talking about

    My planner is about $3,000 for full planning. She has a lesser package that is similiar, but she doesn't go with you to your meetings.  My friend did this and she said it was perfect for her. Honestly, it's been the best money I have spent.  I'm 17 days out and not stressed at all. She is contacting all my vendors and dealing with the last minute changes with tables, linens, etc as our guest count keeps changing.

    try contacting jennifer j events.  she's very reasonably priced and like shannon said, the best money i've spent on anything for the wedding by far

    waterroxy the closest I have seen to your DOC budget is karma goddess, and I think it still might be a little over budget. But i'll post if I find anyone else closer to your DOC budget

    I'm using Jessica Masi of JCG Events.  She's amazing, I originally hired her as my DOC for $950 but after a few months I got overwhelmed with all of the wedding planning so I upgraded my package to a customized planning package.  I think her full wedding package is 2 or 3 thousand...I dont remember, but I'm pretty sure it wasnt more than 3.  I definitely recommend at least giving her a call to check out her pricing, she's awesome, super sweet, and very professional, you'll love her!!  Also, one of the best things I like about her is she's on top of EVERYTHING, she gets things done as soon as I ask for it, there's no waiting or processing time.  She's great if you like instant gratification like me!
