I don't know when to have my bridal shower!

I will be in my last semester of college before the wedding. So the only time I have available due to school and work would be spring break (March) or the weekend before the wedding (in May).

One of my bridesmaids and the mother of the groom cannot come until the weekend before the wedding in May because they both live out of state. Should I just have one day the weekend before the wedding were we do a daytime bridal shower and at night do the bachelorette party so they can attend? Or should I just have the bridal shower in March since it's supposed to be a little before the wedding?

    Who is hosting  your shower?  It is nice to be considering your FIL's, but this has to work for your hosts also.  Have they told you they are able to host on the weekends you are considering.

    I agree. Who is hosting? You should be including them in this discussion. If they tell you that you can have it whenever, then you can go about deciding. I did a bridal shower the same day as my bach party and it worked out well for OOT people.

    However, although it's nice to consider your FMIL and BM, the chances you will find a date where EVERYone can make it are slim to zero. So I wouldn't necessarily plan everything all around them.

    One thing to consider: Are there OOT guests who would be invited to the shower/bach party? Since those people will also be invited to the wedding, they may not want to drive to your town two weekends in a row and decline one or the other.

    That's how I feel! My mom is going to host a tea for me at home during spring break (March) and I think my MOH will host one in April that my school friends can attend. I don't know if the ladies at my church will host one for me or not but if they do, I assume it will be after graduation in May when I'm home. (wedding is 06.09.12) I am going to be SO STRESSED.
