Hahaha, Shannon, I just wrote you back and was just going to post this EXACT article!  I feel absolutely AWFUL for all of those brides who were affected.  Completely awful.  I am very fortunate that they stayed open through my wedding in June, since my hands were tied and I had no time to move venues.  But its so sad.

so many weddings that are booked there! I hate when business do that and don't even call their clients. It's so irresponsible. I feel really bad for that labor day weekend couple

I know its terrible! I think that other venues might reach out to them and offer their space I read something about Paris Catering doing that. I hope it works out for them.

lmparlett - My fiance and I have been dvr'ing like all the news channels, Action 6 was out there last week and will probably be running a story as well.
I am glad that you were able to have a beautiful wedding day before all of this happened.

Wow! You gotta love the blood sucking leech of a "wedding planner" hanging around outside trying to drum up business. What the hell is wrong with people?

It's very unfortunate, and a very sad thing for many brides who are affected by this.  The owners that we signed with sold the place, and from the minute we met the new owners, we knew that they were not people we would have chosen to go into business with, but financially, were kind of stuck... most of the affected brides and grooms are in that same spot.  : (

Wow - I hope other local vendors with opening will take these brides and grooms!  What a terrible thing.  I would have been so devastated!

Check this out! There have been numerous news sories on CBS and NBC and I cant believe they continue to mislead current brides booked there, saying they can still honor their wedding!  I really hope local vendors can really help these couples!

hello. this is in response to Elite Catering in Voorhees NJ. I saw the broadcast regarding the eviction for owners Ira & Stephanie Siegel. My wedding is 9/25/10 and we have contracted with Elite for our reception. We booked the event April 2009. We were never told it was sold to new ownwers and found it strange when they were calling us this past April asking for another payment when our original contract stated the final balance wasnt due until 6 days prior to the event, this is how we became suspicious and found out new owners were in charge. I have called both owners as well as the facility all day and finally received a text message stating "the event will still take place, this is not a going out of business issue, its a tenant and landlord dispute". I was told to "stop calling and texting them and stop acting like a child!" I demanded a phone call which is common courtesy. We have to date paid $3438 for our reception and believe we will not have a reception for our special day nor see a penny of our money refunded. Apparently there are other couples in the same situation! I wanted to know if you have any suggestions to assist us with this matter. We feel very violated and hurt that people can actually get away with taking others money and not honor a written legal agreement. Thank you for your time.

I would still say anyone working with him, get everything in writing and procede with caution if you absolutley have to proceed with them at all.
