What do I need to do with the DMV to change my name on my license?

    If you have already gone to SS they should have given you a slip of paper just stating that you had already been there and you are ready for the next step.  When you go to the DMV you need your marraige certificate and to fill out a new license form with you new name info.  I think it was $26 (not positive) , then they take your information, take a new picture and give you temporary paper work that you need to keep with you until you get your new license in the mail. 

    After you get this done you are all set to change your name on bank cards, credit cards etc (btw when you go to the bank you do need you marriage certificate)

    Good luck, It really doesn't take all that long, I have been married 3 weeks and I have already gotten my new bank cards in the mail

    Perfect. That's what I thought with the DMV but I wasn't sure. I went to Social Security yesterday and got that taken care of.
