Rusty Pelican/Doubletree brides

I posted a while ago, but as I now have 17 days to go, my anxiety is hitting over drive.

Anyone done the RP wedding and had guests and the Doubletree? Any thoughts on the transportation to and from the wedding provided by the hotel? The hotel says that if someone needs to go to the airport, my wedding guests have to wait until they get back.
I ask the girls at the hotel  and they provide no comfort.

Why don't you have the guests just drive over? It's less than a mile and the RP does free valet. That's what my guests did and they were next door at the Westin.

If you're that worried about it you could hire a small bus or van to transport guests.

I only had a few guests stay in the hotels around RP but none of them seemed to have a problem getting to and from the hotel. BUT I didn't book a block at DoubleTree so i don't know what they're like with their shuttle...

My advice to you is not to let it worry you. Make sure you get yourself there and people will take care of themselves. Smile GL

I stayed at the doubletree for a wedding at RP and the shuttle was fine.  Quik easy and we had no problem waiting in regards to the airport time.  Guests can call ahead and reserve...just have them add on 15-10 minnutes wait time to get to the airport.  But it is literally a 10 minute trive to tampa international.

the ONLY thing i wil say about the shuttle from the doubletree is that is stops at 10, so if your wedding goes past that then your guests will be stuck at the RP unless they want to walk or cab it back.  The bride for the wedding i went to paid the doubletree extra to keep the shuttle running until 11 for their guests. HTH!

Hmmm...when I blocked rooms at the Doubletree she said nothing to me about my guests having to wait on the airport. She said when my guests were ready to come back they just needed to call and they would be right over. My reception also ends at 9:30pm and she said that if my guests weren't done partying yet they would bring them to bahama breeze or someplace they would take them there and pick them up. They said nothing about an extra cost.

Looks like I need to call them and make sure. This was one of the reasons I went with the double tree over the other hotels.

I ended up booking another bus to get folks there on time. Expecting them to get there on there own is a little silly- 85% are from out of state.
I paid the Doubletree to have the driver come pick folks up late.
    Thanks for all the suggestions!
