Is this Tacky???

I was married once before and I am getting remarried to man of my dreams in December.  I had a bridal shower for my first wedding.  My FMIL wants to have a bridal shower for me.  Is this acceptable?  I don't want people to think I am trying to get extra gifts.

My parents are divorced, and before my mom got remarried I threw her a surprise bridal shower.

If Someone wants to give you a shower i dont see anything wrong with it,it would be a different story if you were asking for one but that doesnt seem like the case so go for it..

In my social circle, showers are only for firsts- first weddings, first baby, etc. That's because it's understood that once you get the items you need to start your first home, you probably shouldn't need to get them all again. I would probably give the side eye for a shower for a 2nd marriage, but if your family is good with it then it shouldn't matter if strangers think it's tacky. Go for it.

If you're concerned about it, could you keep it on the smaller side?  I'm sure your closest family and friends would still be happy to be there with you.  I wouldn't mind going to a second shower for a close friend but I know I'd be kind of annoyed for a more distant friend if that makes sense??  Either way enjoy this time :)

I say enjoy.  I wouldn't think anything of it.  who knows...you may be in a situation where you gave your first hubby all your stuff or you have all that you want and the shower is just a celebration of YOU.

i think it all depends on how long ago your first shower was. For example my aunt had her first child when she was very young and she had a shower, then twenty years later she was re married and having a baby, since so much time had past she needed everything so my family threw her another shower.

I think it depends on if you plan to register or not. If you do, go ahead and have a shower. If not, I would have more of a luncheon or tea party or something.
