So, I am procrastinating at work, and was thinking about the appointments/makeup artists/etc. that I need to start booking before the big day. I want to know what all of you ladies are doing!
Are you doing airbrush makeup or traditional foundation for your wedding day? And how did you make your decision?
What kind of manicure are you planning to get? (Fake nails, traditional polish, shellac manicure). What color are you planning to have on your nails?
Are you having your hair colored before your wedding? If so, how far in advance will you be booking your last coloring appointment?
Are you doing any other type of beauty regimen/routine in anticipation of your wedding? (Facials, waxing, etc.)
Re: Wedding Day Beauty Questionnaire
Probably airbrush, though I'm not entirely sure yet.
What kind of manicure are you planning to get? (Fake nails, traditional polish, shellac manicure). What color are you planning to have on your nails? shellac/gel manicure. Probably a neutral pink, since that's what I get usually anyway. I'll get regular polish on my toes though, and probably a brighter color, but I'm wearing close toed flats for the wedding, so it doesn't matter too much
Are you having your hair colored before your wedding? If so, how far in advance will you be booking your last coloring appointment? Nope, but I've never colored my hair
Are you doing any other type of beauty regimen/routine in anticipation of your wedding? (Facials, waxing, etc.) I'm getting my legs and netherregions waxed.
What kind of manicure are you planning to get? (Fake nails, traditional polish, shellac manicure). What color are you planning to have on your nails?I have really nice nails to begin with. I'm not getting a manicure and I'll just be putting on clear or doing my own French manicure.
Are you having your hair colored before your wedding? No, i don't color my hair
If so, how far in advance will you be booking your last coloring appointment?
Are you doing any other type of beauty regimen/routine in anticipation of your wedding? (Facials, waxing, etc.) Teeth whitening, but at home and just making sure I take really good care of my skin start last month.
What kind of manicure are you planning to get? (Fake nails, traditional polish, shellac manicure). What color are you planning to have on your nails? - Probably tips for my hands and regular polish on my toes. I'm not big into fake nails but I'd like them to look uniform. Undecided on the color...
Are you having your hair colored before your wedding? If so, how far in advance will you be booking your last coloring appointment? - I get my hair foiled so I'll probably have that done 1 week prior to the wedding. I also get Brazilian blowouts so I'll probably schedule that for a few weeks to a month prior.
Are you doing any other type of beauty regimen/routine in anticipation of your wedding? (Facials, waxing, etc.) - I know it's so bad for you, but I've already started tanning!
What kind of manicure are you planning to get? (Fake nails, traditional polish, shellac manicure). What color are you planning to have on your nails? Traditional polish. 'Imported bubbly' by essie is a front runner
Are you having your hair colored before your wedding? If so, how far in advance will you be booking your last coloring appointment? I don't color my hair.
Are you doing any other type of beauty regimen/routine in anticipation of your wedding? (Facials, waxing, etc.) I'm thinking about getting my legs and a brazilian wax before the wedding. We'll see how brave I am. I used to get facials a lot but haven't recently since we're trying to save money. If I did I would get it at least 3-4 weeks before because my face takes a bit to calm down post facial.
What kind of manicure are you planning to get? (Fake nails, traditional polish, shellac manicure). What color are you planning to have on your nails? I am thinking I am going to just go get a mani/pedi a few days before. Not sure if I will get a bright pink color, a neutrally pink or a frenc mani yet. I am taking extra vitamins to help my nails & hair be stronger & healthier so they look awesome on their own right now.
Are you having your hair colored before your wedding? If so, how far in advance will you be booking your last coloring appointment? I am going in Wednesday to get a color gloss done on my hair (just to enhance my natural color and add a lot of shine) and a trim. I will find out then if I need to get it done again before the wedding but I think she said I wont need to when I booked with her.
Are you doing any other type of beauty regimen/routine in anticipation of your wedding? (Facials, waxing, etc.) I just started a new skin care regimen and teeth whitening at home. I will get my eyebrows waxed probably the week before the wedding just to be safe (my skin is pretty sensitive and sometime reacts to the waxing). I am debating get a full on bikini wax and leg wax done. I have never done it before so if I am going to I think I will get it done initially next month so I have time to see how it goes and how I handle it. If I do it for the wedding I will likely do it 4 or 5 days before the wedding. I will plan to get adjusted by my chiro and get a massage the day before as well. I know that doesnt sound beauty but I always feel better and in turn look better if I have just been adjusted!
I'm doing traditional, but using a primer, Revlon Colorstay and a setting spray. I'm doing it all myself and didn't want to mess with learning how to spray it on.
What kind of manicure are you planning to get? (Fake nails, traditional polish, shellac manicure). What color are you planning to have on your nails?
I'm doing shellac on my fingers and toes. I bought all the stuff to do it myself and it's really easy and I'm loving it! I'm going with an American on both.
Are you having your hair colored before your wedding? If so, how far in advance will you be booking your last coloring appointment?
I color my own hair and thought I'd do it just a few days before because I have black hair and I'm about 75% gray so when the roots start coming in it's really noticeable and we're going to be on a family vacation the week after the wedding and then a week home to get the kids squared away with school stuff and then a week honeymoon and I won't have time to mess with it during those weeks, but I want it to last as long as possible.
Are you doing any other type of beauty regimen/routine in anticipation of your wedding? (Facials, waxing, etc.)
I'm going to do an at home whitening kit in another couple of months and have been using this anti-aging stuff my sister swears by and had shipped to my house. Oh and tanning, but in our yard. My FI and I both like the way we look with color so we'll be starting to lay out in the next few weeks as the weather warms up.
makeup: MUA doesn't use airbrush makeup and I wouldn't want it because I have super sensitive skin and it would be just my luck that I broke out in hives or something on my wedding morning.
manicure: I get a manicure every Friday so my nails are in good shape. For the wedding/honeymoon, I'm going to get gel/shellac. I've done it once before and it lasts like 2 weeks. I'll probably get something very simple, similar to Essie's Fiji.
hair: I need to get my hair highlighted and will probably do it again about 2 weeks before the wedding. I also do Brazilian Keratin (although only twice!) and may do that for ease of blowdrying/styling on the honeymoon in Africa!
I've been taking pretty decent care of my skin, been to dermatologist a few times. I'm whitening my teeth and getting some work done on my teeth. I'll also do waxing as usual. I get my eyebrows threaded (much better for sensitive skin!).
[QUOTE]You carpet waxers are uber brave. You couldn't pay me to get that done hahaha

hahahahahahaha.
i would LOVE to get a wax, but i am so scared of the pain! one time before traveling to Australia my friend and i got full leg waxes...my friend loved it, me? i seriously was in tears the whole time because it hurt so badly. if i can't handle a leg wax, i doubt i could handle any "other areas"!

FI and I are going to get massages the week before. All the kids will be at camp that week so we'll have a week before the wedding to ourselves to take care of all the last minute things and get massages. I had hoped to have one the day of, but there's just no way I can fit it in to the schedule and this will be more fun anyway :)

this is what I am leaning towards to. I have heard of girls having trouble with shellac manicures peeling and pulling away from the nail - did you experience anything like that?
I have really nice nails and get regular manicures too (and would never consider fake nails) but it seems like Shellac is the way to go to avoid chips...
two weeks before the wedding seems like a good time to me to get highlights too! that is what i do to my hair as well :) 2 weeks would also give us enough time for fixing in case a coloring disaster occurs! (not that this would ever happen to any of us....I would rather have extra wiggle time JUST IN CASE!)

Lol amen sista!! I am a shaver!!
Also, you don't have to get it professionally removed, like they say at the salon. Just soak your nails in the heavy duty nail polish remover and it'll come right off.
and HAHAH re hair disasters - that made me think of Bride Wars - "My hair is BLUE!" hahaha
Traditional. I don't want full coverage and I wouldn't be able to have that choice with airbrushing. I have a lot of freckles that I don't want to cover up and one of my friends used airbrush foundation and there was no difference in how long it lasted. I am not using a pro makeup artist and plan to only put some foundation under my eyes and on any blemishes.
What kind of manicure are you planning to get? (Fake nails, traditional polish, shellac manicure). What color are you planning to have on your nails?
I am doing them myself. I have never had my nails done professionally and I hate the idea of it. As for color, it will probably be some type of blush shade.
Are you having your hair colored before your wedding? If so, how far in advance will you be booking your last coloring appointment?
I dye my hair myself every 3 months so I will probably do it around 2 weeks before the wedding so the color will still be bright but more relaxed.
Are you doing any other type of beauty regimen/routine in anticipation of your wedding? (Facials, waxing, etc.)
None. I have never been into 'pampering' and I don't like the idea of paying someone to do something that I can do for free myself. That's pretty much the trend of my wedding. I was having a hard time with the fact that I would have to pay a hairstylist to do my wedding hair but eventually caved because I really want an updo.
Traditional. I'm still undecided if I'm doing it myself or will use a MUA. I like how I apply make-up to myself, so I'm nervous to let anyone else do it.
What kind of manicure are you planning to get? (Fake nails, traditional polish, shellac manicure). What color are you planning to have on your nails?
I'm just doing a regular manicure with a pretty neutral color (possibly ballet slippers from Essie, or similar).
Are you having your hair colored before your wedding? If so, how far in advance will you be booking your last coloring appointment?
Nope, I haven't dyed my hair in about 8 years and I'm happy with my natural color.
Are you doing any other type of beauty regimen/routine in anticipation of your wedding? (Facials, waxing, etc.)
I am going to use the express Crest strips in March and then again in late June. I do at home face masks every Sunday. I use one from Bliss that I'm liking for the winter. But when it starts getting to be warmer weather, I'm going to switch to my mushroom mask by Origins.
[QUOTE]k8888: You're in Jersey, right? If you're feeling brave, Bliss Spa's waxes are almost painless. I was skeptical at first, but I went in for Brazilian and I was totally surprised. And I'm pretty wimpy when it comes to pain! I've been to a bunch of different places and it was by far the best experience (if it could be a "good experience" which it's not in general, lol). Also, they last twice as long as other places I've gone. Just an FYI :)

Yes, I'm in Jersey. If it's the same spa my friend goes to there's one in Hoboken. For me, it has less to do with the pain but more to do with showing off my goods to a complete stranger that doesn't have OBGYN at the end of her name hahaha.
Are you doing airbrush makeup or traditional foundation for your wedding day? And how did you make your decision? No idea.. whatever my makeup artist recommends
What kind of manicure are you planning to get? (Fake nails, traditional polish, shellac manicure). What color are you planning to have on your nails? I am going to get the shellac on my nails- just a french manicure and bright orange on my toes
Are you having your hair colored before your wedding? If so, how far in advance will you be booking your last coloring appointment? I dont color my hair
Are you doing any other type of beauty regimen/routine in anticipation of your wedding? (Facials, waxing, etc.)I am going to start my teeth whitening in March other then that nothing that is planned.
What kind of manicure are you planning to get? (Fake nails, traditional polish, shellac manicure). What color are you planning to have on your nails? Shellac manicure, unsure on the color yet.
Are you having your hair colored before your wedding? If so, how far in advance will you be booking your last coloring appointment? I've never colored my hair.
Are you doing any other type of beauty regimen/routine in anticipation of your wedding? (Facials, waxing, etc.) Tanning, although this is the norm for me anyway, and crest white strips.
What kind of manicure are you planning to get? (Fake nails, traditional polish, shellac manicure). What color are you planning to have on your nails? Thinking about doing fake nails, never had them done! Probably just clear/white.
Are you having your hair colored before your wedding? If so, how far in advance will you be booking your last coloring appointment? Yes, not sure how far in advance, maybe a couple of weeks. My hairdresser also wants to cut my hair too in order for me to achieve the hair style I want.
Are you doing any other type of beauty regimen/routine in anticipation of your wedding? (Facials, waxing, etc.) Not really, just making sure I don't have funny tan lines or get burnt!
What kind of manicure are you planning to get? (Fake nails, traditional polish, shellac manicure). What color are you planning to have on your nails? I think I'm going to try the shellac manicure so it lasts during the HM! I'm planning on trying out the shellac right before my bridal shower to see how it goes. I will probably do a light pink/natural color.
Are you having your hair colored before your wedding? If so, how far in advance will you be booking your last coloring appointment? I've been noticing A LOT of grays, especially when I have my hair pulled up, so I think I'm going to have to do something about that! I set up a hair trial for April so I will ask the stylist what she thinks!
Are you doing any other type of beauty regimen/routine in anticipation of your wedding? (Facials, waxing, etc.) I'm totally afraid of waxing (I've never even done my eyebrows!) so probably nothing. I do want to whiten my teeth though using the Crest strips, but one of my front teeth is capped so I would have to go to the dentist and have her put a whiter cap on, so I have to really think about that!

LMAO ditto!!!! It's like, hi I'm here!!!
Nails: I like my nails and would hate to ever destroy them with fake ones. I guess I had always assumed it would be some kind of french tips but now I'm liking the idea of cute blush pink
Hair: I don't color my hair. But I do want to look into getting the right cut soon for the style I'll be having that day.
Beauty regimen: I want to get my teeth whitened and I'd love to get a facial and/or massage a few days before.. or whatever the appropriate time frame is. But honestly.. what I'd REALLY love to get is botox in my armpits!! Haha seriously! I sweat like crazy and it's worse when I'm not wearing sleeves (uh oh strapless dress) Trying to avoid getting funky odors is a complete nightmare for me!!! FI's dad got it done a while ago and said it worked wonders. I've seen a lot about it too and man, how I've thought about it. If there's room in the budget, I'll definitely do it.
What kind of manicure are you planning to get? (Fake nails, traditional polish, shellac manicure). What color are you planning to have on your nails? I've never done anything fake to my nails so maybe just a blush color and that's about it. I am having my BM's come up early that Friday (if they can) before the RD to go get nails done.
Are you having your hair colored before your wedding? If so, how far in advance will you be booking your last coloring appointment? I've never colored my hair before and won't be starting anytime soon
Are you doing any other type of beauty regimen/routine in anticipation of your wedding? (Facials, waxing, etc.) I'll get my eyebrows waxed probably a week or so before and once it starts to get warm out I'm going to lay out. I may go get a spray tan or two depending on the weather and timing.
[QUOTE]AJ, what extra vitamins are you taking? My mom gave my sister and me massages before her wedding and it was amazing. I highly recommend it to everyone. We should start looking into where we can go by our ceremony location. FI is so relaxed that he won't need one, but I totally will :P
