** cross posted on Boston board. E gets so much traffic, hoping for lots of ideas!
Hi Guys! I thought maybe you can help me brainstorm ideas for BM gifts by sharing what you are doing? I want to get each girl an individual present, but we've been friends for so long, I've exhausted most good gift ideas (most of us don't exchange presents any more because it is just too hard!).
Any ideas? Two of my BMs are moms with kids, one is really into sewing/crafting, but I have no idea what she would want.
Re: Poll: BM's gifts?

There is a local designer in NOLA that everyone in my BP loves and wears jewelry from, so I am getting each of them a pendant that reflects their personality. They are also each getting a GC to their favorite place to shop.

My MIL also insisted on getting them each totebags
[QUOTE]Brie, one of my BMs is a marathon runner, so I wanted to get her a running related GC, any ideas for a good place to buy from, other than places like Academy Sports? Or any other suggestions?

Hmm. In the last year I've gotten gift subscriptions to Runner's World and Women's Health, both of which I've loved. If there's a local running store (not a chain) near her, I'd get a gift card there--most runners I know prefer to patronize independently owned running stores because they're much better about returns and fitting shoes properly and such. If that's not an option, I'd say go with a GC to a place like D*ck's--they have pretty good clothes for running.

The ones with kids I wouldn't buy something kid related. The gift is for them, you know? What are their interests outside of their children? Do they read? Have a certain hobby or sport they love? Like spas?

Thanks, she's OOT, so I'm not sure what is local to her, I really like the magazine subscription idea though, I'll have to try and investigate if she has either of those.
MOH/Sister: Theatre tickets
BM: Theatre tickets

The other two bridesmaids, I have no idea yet.

Married!
Personalized Tote bag from TK (bought on sale - love them.....they are even bigger than I thought!!) They picked the color, but have no idea what they are getting. The bags will be fillied with:
A bottle of wine (this part was personalized off their taste)
"Bridesmaid survival kit" with chapstick, waterproof mascara, kleenex, lotion, wisps (the mini toothbrush things), bottle of water, etc.
Flip flops for the reception
my sister - a spa wrap. She hates bath robes, but can't find a towel she can keep done up into a "dress" while getting ready.
BM #2 - a GC to a glass blowing event. She can (could) take her daughter if she wanted, as well, or go solo.
BM #3 - a bird feeder and a bird watching book (bought a new house & really wanted the bird feeder for her back yard).
I also got them cute jewelry that they could wear for the wedding if they wanted, or not if they didn't, and a very small digital photo frame (3.5x5) that I got on super duper good sales.
Basically - start early to get good deals. And then just listen closely to find one or two things that really suit them. You can spend a lot or a little (I spent a LOT less than it sounds like).
Dresses may be easier to take in than let out, but guest lists are not. -- kate51485
For my older sis I got a gift card to L Occitane
Little sis I got a gift card for a spa near where she lives
Husband's cousin who is a teenager we got a gift card for shutterfly and some picture frames and an album. I wasn't sure what to get her and my husband wasn't much help. She has tons of pictures of her and her friends on facebook so I figured she would like it. I also got her a pearl necklace. It wasn't really part of her gift just that my sisters were wearing their pearl necklaces and earrings for the wedding.
For my husband's cousin who did a reading we got her scrapbooking stuff like paper and that type of thing. She is very crafty and makes all her own cards.
