Place to find Cheap/Informal Wedding Dress locally?

Ok, here is my situation.  My and I are planning an October 2010 wedding.  However, recently two of our grandparents have become very ill and we are not sure how long they will make it.  We have made the decision together to have a very informal wedding at the court with them both present so they can see us get married, since we do not believe they will make it to October.  We are still planning on having a ceremony and reception next year, but both of us want to make sure our grandparents see us married.  Since I have my dress for next year, which is definitely way to much for something informal I wanted to try and find a very informal casual white dress for the upcoming marriage.  I do not want to spend a lot on it because we are still having a wedding day in October.  I want around knee or tea length dress.  Does anyone know of any places that have cheap and informal wedding dresses locally?TIA!!!

    First and foremost, I'm sorry to hear about the situation, but I think it's wonderful of you and your FI to consider doing this for you grandparents.  It's very thoughtful of you!You may want to check out department stores and see if they have white dresses available.  A cousin of mine had a DW and the bride found her dress at DEB.  It was white and pretty and perfect for their setting.  Try checking out J. Crew as well - I know they sell wedding dresses online.  You could also check out Julianne's in Olmsted Falls. They are a consignment shop and might have something available for you.Good luck with everything!

    I'm so very sorry to hear this. :( If you have the time, check at Target and JCP online. In store, you may be a little more limited, though. Worth checking out. Like pp mentioned, check Julianne's or even Craig's List. :) Even if you find something that doesn't fit just right, consider taking it in to Julianne's. . . Denise can work wonders inexpensively and quick. Once again, I'm sorry this is happening and I applaud your decision to do things this way. . . I don't think you'll regret it. (We moved ours up a year against my original desire, simply because my grandmother isn't doing well health-wise.. . . I couldn't be happier.)

    I would also check Davids Bridal - I get emails from they nearly everyday about their $99 sales they have going on. I tried on one dress that was very casual and tea length. Good luck, I'm so sorry to hear about your ill grandparents!

    try catan's, they have some more casual dresses and if you can fit a sample size you could by a sample and have it right away.   Also check and see if you can get a brides maids dress in white.   that could be less $100 if you find one.   I am very sorry to hear that your grandparents are not doing well and i think that it is wonderful that you are doing this for them.Jenna

    Try Anthropologie, a friend of mine got her dress and also her bridesmaid dresses there and they were all gorgeous. She actually bought a few dresses because she couldn't decide (plus they were all on sale!), I think two from Anthropologie and one from J. Crew. The dress she wore for the ceremony was ivory knee-length and very classy.

    There is a bridal salon in downtown amherst called sharon's bridal and she has a lot of dresses that are discounted you might want to try there if you havent found anything yet
