Hi All,
Need some opinions on a few matters. I am horrible at making decisions even when it comes to the simplest things such as what I want for lunch, so all these wedding decisions are going to be the end of me haha!
Venue Decisions:
1) Lanikuhonua- Pros-love this space from all the pictures, and have heard wonderful things about it. Definitely the scenic backdrop we are looking for.
Cons-Worried about the lack of place to change into another reception dress and the price of the venue given that they only allow you to be there from 4-10. Scared of how quickly things will add up since we are starting with a blank slate...
2) Kuolua Ranch- Paliku Gardens/Bowl- Pros-Really like this space but seems to be more rain forest/mountain landscape than tropical beach like Lanikuhonua. Great price and you get the venue from 10am-10pm.
Cons- Fiance doesn't like the structure at Paliku Gardens. Thinks it looks like a picnic structure. I don't think that has to be a part of our wedding as there is ample space to have it on the grass area? Anyone have any input on this? Again also scared of how quickly things will add up starting with a blank slate..
3) Turtle Bay Resort- Pros-Love all the pictures we have seen, and this was our original venue choice. Everything is included in the resort package vs. Lanikuhonua and Paliku where we have to bring everything in.
Cons- Distance from Waikiki is very far and we are worried about the cost of transporting 80-100 guests to and from the venue.. Also, lack of ability to make the wedding original and our own.
4) Loulou Palms- Pros- Gorgeous, intimate, classy
Cons- Distance like Turtle Bay and cost....
Wedding Planner Decisions:
1) Milestones Events- Spoke to Alicia and really got along with her very well. Think we have a good connection, but she doesn't have as much experience as Dianna from Hawaii Weddings and Events.
2) Hawaii Weddings and Events- Spoke with Dianna, and got along with her well but didn't feel like we clicked as well as Alicia and I did. But her experience and wealth of knowledge is amazing.
- Both companies offer similar packages for about the same price. I am still debating between full service and partial service. I really want to be involved and am mainly wanting a coordinator for the day of and to give us advice on which vendors are the most credible and will provide us the best value for what we want and what is within our budget means.
Sorry about the long winded message everyone, but I am just having difficulty in making these 2 initital decisions. I know once these two pieces are in place, the rest of the wedding planning should be easier... hopefully?! Any advice/input would be appreciated!
Thanks!
Alicia
