Blondies (and other people with dry hair), come here

This isn't related to wedding beauty, but I need some good recommendations for daily conditioners that are super moisturizing. I bleach the crap out of my hair and as anyone who gets highlights knows, that doesn't tend to leave the hair soft and shiny. I use deep conditioner a lot and serums, but I would like to have a good "everyday" conditioner. I actually only wash my hair 2 to 3 times a week, but still. You get my drift. Any recommendations are appreciated. Thanks ladies!

  • I've tried the long-term relationship leave in (Herbal Essences) and that's pretty good.  I just do from the ears down.

For regular daily shower conditioner, I like the Aveda Rosemary Mint.  You have to make sure to wring out your hair before using it.

Have you ever tried the Alberto V-05 hot oil treatments?  They work really well for how cheap they are.

This stuff is amazing and will leave your hair feeling like silk, but it's pretty expensive.  It's a once a week type treatment:
  • My two favorite conditioners are Biolage Ultra Hydrating Balm and Joico K-Pak Reconstruct Conditioner.  Also my holy grail in hair care is moroccan oil (I get the light formula, but never had a problem with the regular).. It makes all the difference in my hair and I can't live with out it.  Good luck!!!

  • Garnier used to make a product called "long term relationship" or something about split ends. It came in a green bubble shaped pump that I would put on my ends after I towel dried my hair. My hair is highlighted and about halfway down my back. Also I use leave in conditioner about 1  a week.

If you can try avoid heat products like the plague. It has made a huge difference for me. I have been sporting a natural wave (from air drying my hair) with my bangs pinned back since my last hair cut in June and I can't belive how many compliments I am getting about how healthy and shiny my hair looks. (since its summer I think I have dried my hair maybe twice since my cut) I think my hair looks boring and unstyled most days, and I can't wait to cut it, but I know it'll look fabulous on my wedding day next month.

Also John Freida makes a gloss treatment I did a few years ago that I liked when I was way blonder than I am now.
    Good luck!

  • I use a daily keratin conditioner that works well for controlling frizzies.

  • I would look into a once-a-week mask or go to the salon for deep conditioning treatments once in a while.  Since you're in a big city, watch Groupon for salon deals and it's a good way you can do those kind of treatments you might not otherwise do.

I'm currently trying Organix for a deep conditioner once a week, but it hasn't helped too much.  I think the Aussie stuff works better and is a lot cheaper.  I also second the V05 hot oil treatment.  I haven't done it in a while but it does help!
  • I used to use a Neutrogena daily deep conditioner that came in a yellow-ish container that was phenomenal.

I love, love Redken Butter Treat. It's part of the Smooth Down line, which in itself is sometimes too soft. I use Butter Treat the week after I get highlights and then when I need it. I only wash my hair 2-3 times a week too, and it's a great everyday conditioner. Oh no! I just went to the Redken website to get this link, and I found it's been discontinued! I can only hope that the replacement is the same thing branded differently! I'm crushed. http://www.redken.com/products/haircare/smooth-down/smooth-down-butter-treat

  • I feel your pain! I deep condition with Organix Moroccan Oil Deep Conditioner once a week. I also use a leave-in every day. I have noticed a huge difference and it doesn't wiegh down my hair. My favorite is Redken Extreme Anti-Snap. It works really, really well and smells incredible.

Butter Treat is my HG treatment! It's too expensive to use everytime though, so that's why I'm looking for a daily conditioner. I can't believe they're discontinuing it! I wonder if I could stock up on it anywhere, on sale.

  • I second the Biolage Hydrating Balm - and Sally Beauty Supply carries a line called Generic Value Products that has an EXACT duplicate of it for so much cheaper.  A bottle is maybe $6.50 compared to $20 for a jar of Biolage.  When I bought my condo I had to sacrifice some things to afford bills, and Ulta was one (I used to go nearly every week).  Finding this at Sally Beauty was a godsend.

I also use Paul Mitchell Super Skinny Serum for frizz.  A bottle of that lasts forever but GVP also has a mimic of it.
