Upstate NY Wedding Recap

The wedding itself was pretty good. The ceremony was beautiful. The bride looked awesome, and all the guys looked great in their tuxes.

The food was meh at best. They had artificial centerpeices, which I'm not a fan of personally. The cake was good, although totally beebee with the fountain running through it.  I got a picture.

The funniest moment was when the DJ announced that it was, "Time for the Jewish Chair Dance!".

People in upstate in NY don't know what Judaism is. I was going to a bris downstate and I went to hallmark to find a card . . . there was one. Out of curiosity, I looked to see if there were bar/bat mitzvah cards. About 5 total.

That's what was confusing to me.

His family is Jewish and from SoFL, her family is Methodist I believe and they're from upstate NY.

Also, the DJ managed to butcher the names of every member of the bridal party.

I thought of WW when I heard that one of the bridesmaids was named Courtenay.

    So, it's not Court-knee. It's Cour-ten-ay. She's 35.

Wait, what do you mean by "upstate"? If you mean like Westchester, then yes, that IS where the Jews come from. But if you mean Albany and north, then no, there are like none. It was a culture shock for me. I miss lox.

This was in Geneva, about 45 minutes away from Rochester.

No Jews, just lots and lots of tattoos. And of course, the one guest who showed up in jeans.
