I am planning my wedding and I have a fairly large wedding party. I am having a Man of Honor and six females stand up with me, one of which is my fiance's sister. My fiance also has a 21 year old step sister and a 13 year old half sister. I asked both of them to read, and the 13 year old says she will get stage fright but would like to do something else in the wedding if possible. My fiance and I both have several conflicts with this side of the family but I feel the right thing to do is to include them in someway, but I do not want them to be bridesmaids. I have been waiting my whole life for this and want to celebrate with my best friends and his sister that I get along with very well. Do you have any ideas on what I can have the 13 year old girl do that would not make her feel uncomfortable?

    I totally understand! I have two step sisters that my dad adopted a few years back. Long story short my Dad and their Mom are no divorced and the relationship is very strained. I love them and wanted to include them but did not want them as bridesmaid. I actually asked them to help push my ring bearer down the aisle as he is in a wheelchair. I am not not having programs and most people can figure out the guest book thing. It is kind of a unique situation for me; but thought I would share in case it prompted some ideas for your situation.
