Manzanita tree

Has anyone use manzanita trees as their centeripiece?  Is it a good idea or does it make the room look very bare?  My venue has a grand ballroom with high ceiling - and our theme is black and white - recommendations?  We're thinking of doing half manzanita and half tall white floral centerpieces.

Manaz branches are awesome!! I'm the DFW metroplex (Tx) and they tend to be very expensive for us?? They are amazing. Curly willow would be another option (not so expensive) - and no... I do not think it would look bare out all.... It would give you a ton of height (which you do want!!) All white flowers for the remaining tables... tall - would be classy and timeless. Something as simple as 10 stems of white gladiola in a vase would be stunning... 3 large white callas.... stacking white hydrangea blooms in a vase..... I think you are def heading in the right direction! Sounds lovely!!! Congrats!!!    ps - both styles of branches can be dipped in latex paint and left to dry - afterwards they become completely pliable. Super Cool - I've done them in a high white gloss... really chic!

If you are having your reception in a grand ballroom, the higher the centerpieces the more dramatic they are. However, it can get costly.

Consider alternating your centerpieces, every other table has a tall one, the ones in between have shorter, fuller ones.

Manzanita branches are expensive, and I agree with the above poster that curly willow can do the trick for much less. You'd probably need a fairly tall vase (an eiffel tower or other similar tall vase) to put the curly willow in. I spray painted some in silver, and they are between 3-4 feet tall. Then you can add some tall dramatic flowers like white asiatic lillies to fill in.

If you want the "dripping crystal" look, check out www.shopwildthings.com. They have the long hanging crystal plastic room dividers that are much less costly than buying the whole manzanita tree.........but they sell the fully decorated trees as well.

    Good luck.
