What is your FI wearing on the big day?

FI hasn't even thought about it. He keeps threatening to dress like Colonel Sanders and it's starting to get on my last nerve.  Logistically, he has to get measured up here at Men's Wearhouse, have his measurements sent to Georgia, and pick up everything there.  The same for his Best Man - who STILL isn't even sure he's coming, despite the fact that he said yes when FI asked him.

Do you know what your FI is wearing?  If so, can you post a pic?  I need some inspiration.

Are you guys letting your FI pick his attire and surprise you, or did you go with him?  I want to go with him, he keeps saying he'd rather surprise me.  I don't know if I can handle a surprise this huge.

Not sure yet. I don't mind what he wears but I'll proably help him pick it out anyways. We're planning to do that in the next couple of weeks.

A little less traditional so not sure if this is much help but my fiance is wearing a black suit that he already owns - its a two button notch lapel. Traditional dress shirt and Ivory tie with a thin taupe  stripped pattern on it.   I got the shirt and tie at Kohls.  The shirt was a Marc Anthony brand and the tie was by Arrow (https://www.kohls.com/product/prd-1152115/arrow-tod-grid-tie.jsp).

We still need to find him some new black dress shoes. He has some but they are very well worn.  I'm not a big fan of matchy vests, cumberbunds or any of that kind of stuff and he was excited to hear he didn't have to rent a tux.  So just a suit, tie, and black dress shoes.

I think my fiance would have had me go with even if he was renting a tux.  But thats because he knows he is fashionably challenged. :-)  I'm trying to hold my tongue on what shoes he should wear cuz we have different styles of dress shoes in mind but it is HIS attire so I'm trying to just let him get what he wants.

We are planning on getting him a new suit after the first of the year, hoping to catch a good B1G1 sale at Mens Warehouse.  I'm not on anything yet except that the suit will be black and if he is going to do a white shirt it has to be ivory to match my dress.

My colors are hot pink, black and ivory so it doesn't present a whole lotta options for colors for him.  I wouldn't want him to wear pink other than his bout, and all black just seems wrong for a mid afternoon spring wedding....  I'm looking for ideas too :)

We decided on a suit instead of a tux, since the whole affair will be a bit casual overall.

Then spent a bit of time trying to find the right one. So many options!

Then, the wednesday before Thanksgiving Kohl's had a sale on suits. They happened to have a very nice one in his size, the preferred color choice (charcoal) and at a great price, so we bought it.

We also ended up taking it to be altered to the same shop I'll be taking my dress for alterations, kind of as a test run on how well they did.  :D

We bought a nice, simple tan suit from jcpenny. We wanted it to be light and casual for our beach wedding. We'll probably go with a turquoise or neutral tie.. Not sure yet.

FI is going to wear a simple black suit, not sure yet what style. With a white shirt underneath and an orange tie. His best man will have his own black suit and a different orange tie, and my brother who is walking me down the aisle has the same orange tie as the BM and his own black suit too. None will match, but I don't care!

I'm going with FI to Men's Wearhouse either to rent one or buy one as well and make sure he gets a suit that fits appropriately. He always gets things too big and they don't look very good, so yeah- I'm making sure it will fit well for this one day! lol

The groomsmen will have a very light blue vest and tie to match the bridesmaids and FI will have an ivory vest. The tie is currently a headache. Our wedding is slightly themed (color-wise) after our college as we met there and are both huge fans of our college basketball team (go heels!). He wants to find a blue argyle tie that matches the pattern that's on our basketball uniform...it seriously just doesn't exist. We're now in the process of trying to find a fabric that will match and then asking his stepmother to do us a huge favor and make him a tie, as she's a really wonderful seamstress and I can barely sew a button.

We did go together to pick it out. We both wanted a say in the bridal party attire and wanted him to match. Plus he wanted opinions on how it looked. I'm not really disappointed it won't be a surprise. I mean, I've seen him in several suits and tuxes so that won't be a huge change and I'm sure it'll make a difference when he's up at the altar with a boutinere and such :)

FI's will be similar to Von's.  Black tux, though, and a light blue vest for all of the guys.  FI's is supposed to be black.  Our colors are ivory and cornflower blue.  I've been telling all of my vendors it's sort of like Carolina blue but a little darker ;-)  I went to UNCW so I couldn't justify using true Carolina blue but teal would have been a bit intense and there's no way I'd go with royal blue....no Dookies, here!!

Haha, I love that you said no royal blue. My mom wanted a dress that was blue to coordinate, but was so anxious about getting a Dook blue dress - she kept sending me pictures and checking to make sure it wasn't that :)

Fashionably challenged.  Yes, that's it!  FI owns exactly ONE sport coat (that I bought him because he was going to go to his sister's wedding with just dress pants, a shirt, and the ONE tie he owns (which I also bought him.)  I don't even know if he owns dress pants that fit and his idea of dress shoes are loafers from Payless.  He's a man-boy.  Have you seen the movie Fever Pitch?  Yeah, that's FI, minus the psychotic love of the Red Sox.

Granted, we don't really go anywhere that dressing up is required, but still - there's nothing hotter than a man who is all dressed up.  Our wedding is informal, so he'll be in a suit, not a tux.  I'd prefer charcoal since we're using pastel colors and I think black would be too in your face.  I would honestly cringe to see what he picks out if he's left on his own.  lol

FI and our BM went to Jos. A. Bank together to pick out a suit for FI for a wedding we went to recently.  He said that the salesperson was awesome but they(salesman and BM) picked out a blue paisley tie, which is something FI and I definitely wouldn't have chosen.  I'd escort him if I were you and put him in the salesperson's hands and then make final veto decisions ;-)

He did well picking out the tux b/c we looked at options on skype together before they went and then of course, he called me about 10 times during the process to ask questions, etc.

This is very similiar to what my FI and his guys will be wearing. The pinstripes are more subtle on the tuxes we chose.

FI and the groomsmen will be charcoal grey suits. The guys are going to have pink ties(not sure which shade of pink we are using both baby pink with accents of hot pink and their boutineer will be the hot pink) and we are going to buy then pink argyle socks as well. We aren't sure of the color tie FI is going to wear.

FI hasn't decided if he wants charcoal or black. For the most part he is picking what he wants. I just want him to wear suspenders and a bow tie.

Vk- I actually love the idea of suspenders :) I might try to push this on FI for him and the guys!

John is wearing a black tux with silver vest and bow tie. He picked it.

We started out with colors of pink and blue with silver accents. That's kind of gone to hell in a handbasket as the MOH is wearing brown.

At this point so long as I am married and the food is good I don't care. ;)

I think they are hot. FI wears them whenever he dresses up and I love it lol. I told him that is my only requirement for his attire.

FI is wearing a suit he already owns but he's only worn it for 1 or 2 job interviews. It's dark charcoal with dark blue pinstripes, light blue or white shirt, and his tie is silver and navy (I'm super proud of this tie, it was a $150 tie that I got on sale for $10). His best man is going to wear a charcoal suit as well.

I don't let FI go shopping alone, he's terrible at picking out clothes that fit and is colorblind. His mom tries to dress him like his dad which is not appropriate for a 25year old who looks older already and she was the one who trained him to wear clothes 2-4 sizes too big.
