wrong wedding dress

i feel that i may have chosen the wrong color wedding dress. i love the back of it, but the color is ivory-antique in color and i had always envisioned me in white. my wedding colors are scarlett and gray and i am unsure how the dress will look with those as well. but the dress is beautiful and we wouldnt have enough money to buy another dress. i need some encouragement!

Re: wrong wedding dress

  • Relax. Ivory is generally more complimentary to people's skin tones, and no one is going to be comparing how your dress looks against the tablecloths.
  • I agree - a few bridal stores told me it's actually difficult to find true white dresses because the ivory/cremes are way more flattering on most skintones so designers dont tend to make as many. Happy planning :)
  • Just got done shopping for "the dress" on Friday after trying on dresses all last week.  We went to 5 bridal stores and all the consultants said they have a higher ratio of dresses in ivory because white is not as flattering.  Ivory antique sounds beautiful, you'll be fine and I bet no one will be able to tell the difference.
  • PP are correct. Most "white" wedding dresses are not truly white nor are they universally flattering. Although it is all too easy to second guess yourself, you obviously chose this dress for a reason. Remember: your guests will not even notice the difference between your ivory-antique gown and true white. They will be too busy focusing on you and the beauty of your day. Go Bucks!!
