Budget Reception Venue

Hi all,
My first time posting here.  I just got engaged and now my excitement has worn off after I've seen the prices of the reception venues.

Does anyone have any ideas for reception venues in Southern Wake County - Fuquay, Holly Springs, Garner, Cary, etc. that are "best kept secrets"? I think I've found about all that I can on the Internet. I need a new idea, maybe somewhere that is not known for weddings. I am searching for a place that holds 250.

I like Devil's Ridge in Holly Springs but their package is very expensive. Has anyone had their reception there and were you able to got a better deal that their rate sheet says?

What about the Rand-Bryan House in Garner. Their rate seems reasonable and you can bring your own alcohol, which will cut down on costs considerably.

Thanks for your help.

Congrats & welcome! I know the Raleigh rose garden is reasonable but I'm not sure how many people it can accommodate. You can look on the parks & rec website to see if they have anything. During my college days we had a formal at Campbell lodge & it was very reasonable. Again, I'm not sure about the capacity. The Southerland is a very cute place but I'm not sure about the price there.

Welcome to the board!  Sticker shock took away my excitement at first, too, so I completely understand where you are coming from!

The Rand-Bryan House is where I'm getting married this September!! Martha is wonderful to work with, and I love that basically I can do whatever I want! We're bringing our own alcohol, and she's very flexible with vendors! The only thing with a group that big, is you'll definitely need to use the outdoor space. Good luck!
