groom broke his leg

Our wedding is 3 weeks away and my groom broke his leg today. I am freaking out and not sure what we should do....postpone it until he's recovered? (he may have to get surgery, we're going to a specialist tomorrow)....just go through with it and have him on crutches and not able to dance? postpone our honeymoon too? this is awful and I just can't believe it happened. I feel like our wedding will be ruined now. What should I do...???  Has anyone had to deal with anything like this before? Any advice?

    I guess it depends on the what the specialist says and how the groom feels.  Unless he's having surgery the day before the wedding I'd still have the wedding, but possibly postpone the honeymoon.

    I'm sorry your fiance broke his leg. Hopefully it will be alright with just a cast. I wouldn't put off the wedding though unless he needs surgery ASAP and they can get him in on Saturday.

    get married as planned if he's able (otherwise you and all of your OOT guests stand to lose a lot of $). If you can postpone the honeymoon, do that. At this point you still may be able to cancel without losing any cash. wait on your trip until your FI is 100% better. 

    We went on a river cruise last year with my ILs and my FIL broke his leg about 6 weeks before the cruise. FIL looked into postponing the trip for him and MIL, but the cost would have been significantly more or he would have lots his deposit to cancel. They gave him a walking cast days before we left, but it rubbed his leg raw and he wasn't able to get around very well. He was also very stubborn and didn't want to use the travel wheelchair that we brought, and didn't enjoy much of the trip.

    Yeah, there were two or three here and I know of two in real life.

    I think they're breaking their legs in an attempt to postpone the wedding.

    Of course, now that I say that, FI is going to break his leg right before the wedding. I will be pissed that we won't be able to dance, but we'd still do both the wedding and the honeymoon. There wouldn't even be a question. Our honeymoon is all about laying on the beach and doing nothing, so he'd be fine. And maybe the ariline would bump us up to first class.

    I am truly sorry this happened.  My H broke his leg a few years ago, he was in an motorcycle accident.  It took him about 3 weeks or so just to be able to walk on crutches.  His entire leg was in a cast an he was in pain for a long time.  Honestly, if it was me I would postpone the entire thing.  But honestly, you need to be talking to your FI about this, because he should be the one to make the call.  But again if I were you, for his sake, I would postpone.

    Talk to your fiance and see if you can change the w date. You would need to review your vendor contracts but I am sure they will work with you. I would personally want my fiance to be in good health, spirits, be able to dance and enjoy himself without being in pain or on meds. Good Luck !

    And here I thought my friend's husband with a broken neck was bad, but to break his leg before your big day? How dare he.

    See the doc tomorrow then decide. But I would definitely look into postponing the honeymoon.
