DJ recommendations?

Well, 7 months and 3 weeks out and I have most of my major stuff all booked, wahoo! The one thing still missing is a DJ. I have checked out a few websites, but I really don't know where to begin. All their videos seem the same to me. I went to a wedding last year where the DJ was just awful, and I don't want that to happen to me!

Anyone have recommendations?

    Main Event DJ's.

    We are going with Billy Rears from Main Event, but they have many DJ's for many different prices.  They have been great to work with and they also have "Meet the DJ" nights where you can meet all of their DJ's. 

    A lot of the ladies on this board have gone with them and had good experiences. GL!

    I am using Tony Cappello from A Good Time DJ's. I have seen him at other weddings and he is awesome!!

    I have also seen George Whitehouse from there (I think he is the owner, not sure though) and he was great too.

    Thanks ladies, I will check out all these suggestions! I don't know why it's taking me longer to figure this one out, i seemed to move through booking all my other major vendors rather quickly. :) Thanks for your help!

    We're going with Ra-mu and the Crew!  He includes SO much (free uplighting, txt messaging to 2 42" plasmas) and his price was amazing!  After FI and I met with him we knew we made a tremendous find.  He is def. not the typical wedding DJ and if you speak with him you'll know exactly what I'm talking about.  Check out his videos and reviews on WeddingWire! GL!

    We are using Dave Lynch. Great price and he seems like a real nice guy! A lot of ladies here have used him also.

    Biotechick, I see Ramu is a Boston area DJ, would he travel? That is really cool that he includes uplighting, I'm definitely going to check him out!

    MissMeegs, he pretty much told me he'll travel anywhere!  He does a lot of weddings in RI and MA.  Ours is in NH and there's no travel charge (I don't even think he'd ever charge for travel).  Also, he's started offering photobooths which we're having and is waay less $$ than others I've looked into.  He has videos of guests using them at weddings on his youtube as well.

    Get Down Tonight, hands down.  We had Dave, as did my cousin.  My sister and my husband's college friend had Tommy.  All were referrals off of our wedding, along with another wedding that we attended.  They are the best.

    If you can't go with the, definitly A Main Event.

    Dave Lynch was awesome! He was super easy to work with and very nice. He called me the day before the wedding to see if he could do anything. I really think if I had asked him to tie programs, he would have. One of our favorite vendors!

    I am using Chad Ardizzo from Get Down Tonight.  He is AWESOME!! I went to a wedding where he was the DJ and it was so much fun.  He was upbeat and really got the crown going.  Get Down Tonight is a great company too.  You can make an appointment with them and go look at videos of all their DJs.  Good Luck!

    Dave Lynch! He was amazing the night of the wedding, kept the crowd dancing all night long. Chica isn't lying, about how helpful he is, he called me the day before my wedding as well. And when my reception site filed for bankruptcy, he called me to make sure I knew and sent me a huge list of reception sites. I can't wait to have another opportunity where I can use him again!

    We're using Drew Rissler from Get Down Tonight also....several of their DJs are great, but Drew was closer to the price we wanted.

    We are using Dave Lynch also, and I booked him soley on all the good knottie feedback he got on this board, he has been so easy to work with and in our price range.

    I am glad to read the both of you, Arez and Chica, had great experiences with DJ Dave Lynch.
    I read both of your reviews. I am having a hard time finding any reviews on other wedding websites such as weddingwire, etc for DJ  Dave Lynch. 
    Did you hire him based on other knotties' reviews/experiences only or were you able to find other reviews for him as well?  If so, can you share them with me?

    I booked him also because of the great knottie reviews. His price was also in our budget, unlike the djs I wanted from either get down tonight or a main event. He was very good with responses also which I liked.

    I dont know what your budget is but this is one I kinda splurged on for 6 hours.  NuImage is by far the best DJ company I have seen.  I have seen Dave Lynch and he is awesome too.

    I am also using Dave Lynch. I found him as other people have mentioned from Knottie reviews (basically from this page). We met with him and he was just so easy to work with & was on the same page with us on the type of reception we wanted to have!

    We still have about 8 months, but I can report back if I also get a call before the wedding :)
