we are split between Antigua or St Lucia ...

He wanted to make it a surprise but I wanted to know what he had been considering. Tahiti / Bora Bora...I'm very happy with that idea! When the time comes to start planning, let's hope that happens!

I think FI and I are going to Maldives..because we're going to be in Sri Lanka for our 2nd wedding..and it's not too far from each other.. but then again, FI and I wants to go to S.America

Well, we'll see if and when that happens!

I've always wanted to see Greece / Italy / Egypt...(I'm a big history nerd), so maybe we'd consider one of those as well...but, I'm more into a beach idea.

I admire the initial thought I had (which was rather silly) that I'd be super adventurous much as I always am on vacation...but then realized how wiped out we'd be from all the wedding madness. So, a beach sounds suitable ...and if it has a good spa, I'm sold.

South America, eh? I've always wanted to see Brazil!!!

When are you guys deciding?

Rellicdragon-OH MY GOD!! we went through the same dilema, he waited till beginning of May to book it and St. Lucia Sandals was all booked, my sis been there and she said it was the best option for all exculsive sandals since there are other sandals resorts to visit on the Island. We ended up booking Antigua, for first week of Aug!! I am glad its done and we atleast have a destination, I am so looking forward to that!!

Since he cant get a long vacay anything far is out of question, if I had my choice I would be going to Hawaii ladies, but yes thats for next yr.and my second fav would be Maldives so Trueleo!!! you are soo lucky

I cant wait for the honeymoon, its my reward for this meticulous wedding planning!!

Sonali, If we were to go to S.America, we would only go to Costa Rica and Brazil!

We're making our final decision after our trip to Sri Lanka this summer. FI also brought up the Sandals Resort stuff but I'm not really sold on it yet...

Jnsaini, We're going to Maldives this July and if I like it, we might be going back for our HM but not too sure yet. Antigua sounds very exotic! And I totally agree with you, the honeymoon will be your reward for the hard work you've put in.

We're going to Maui for a much needed vacation

FI's aunt owns a condo there and is letting us stay for free (she will be gone). I wish I could fast forward thru the next 4 weeks and just be there right now.

Oh you ladies all have such great honeymoons planned/though out!

We won't be going on a honeymoon right away since we will be getting married right before Thanksgiving and we don't want to leave our respective families around the holiday(s).

I like the idea of Belize. There are beaches, but there are also places for activities since laying on the beach is not a good idea for either of us (we are deathly afraid of skin cancer, since I tan under a 15 watt bulb and FI burns under a 15 watt bulb, hah!)

Eventually we will figure it out. Until then, I will live vicariously through you guys!

We like a mix of city and beach so we are doing 4 nights in each Istanbul, Mykonos & Santorini with the last night in Athens. This will be each of our longest vaca in 10 plus years so we are pretty psyched (usu only do 1 week along with some long weekends, etc)

All of your destinations sound great - we had a really hard time deciding. Our first choice was a 1 week safari in S Africa followed by 1 week on one of the beaches or island off Africa but the timing didn't work and the World Cup will just be finishing the day of our wedding.

We're going.... somewhere. I have no idea where. He won't tell me. He's all excited about planning the honeymoon "all by himself" (translation: I'm going to have to remind him more than a few times to get things done while still trying not to learn any of the details). He did ask me for my List - that is, my List of Places To See Before I Die - so I hope he picks one of the locaitons from that.

I do know that it will NOT be a beachy locale - he hates the beach and I like it only occasionally - or somewhere hot. I'm hoping it isn't somewhere snowy, lol.

@trueleo - It's true. He burns so easily! And I tan just as easy, so we are always on sunscreen patrol. If you can't laugh at yourself, then life is just no fun

Lucky! I wish I can tan easily! I dont believe in tanning beds and spray tans. ssooorryy
no matter how much oil i put on, i BARELY get dark. =(

I just get super golden brown in the sun, but I scuba, I snorkel, I kayak...I love the ocean, so, I avoid the sun if it's super hot, but, I can't stay away for too long. But I'm always prepared with sunblock and protection.

We're doing 2 weddings - one in Canada (where I'm from) and one in the south of France (where he's from) and thus two honeymoons: Hawaii (he's never been) and Argentina, Chile and Uruguay. We love traveling!

Trueleo--totally jealous about the maldives, heard it's fantastic! Plus you will get to see them before they sink.

Hisbeloevd one -- we did the same thing where he planned the trip. And must admitt, I did have to gently remind him a couple of times (he tends to procrastinate: ) ). It was a complete suprise for me until he asked if we needed travel shots on anything (i'm a doctor). but i'm totally looking forward to bora bora and moorea!

mkjasani -- we totally thought about turkey/greece as well, it has been a must destination for us but i guess

Can't believe my wedding is this weekend!
