Cleanse or not to cleanse!?

So before I start my post I just want to say that I'm not over weight by any means or do I have any type of eating problem/disorder not that I judge anyone who does. I have been looking at these juice cleanses online and have really thought about doing one! I would like to lose about 5 lbs before the wedding and I know that I have plenty of time but I wonder if "cleaning" my body would help me jump start my eating right/somewhat exercising plan? Has anyone done one of these and if so what were the results?

Re: Cleanse or not to cleanse!?

  • The thing is that these don't really cleanse you of anything other than water.  If you really want to cleanse your intestines, you need something that actually goes through them that isn't liquid.  I've done what is called a Royal Flush many times over the years.

You mix psyllium husk powder with apple juice and then chug.  It's like drinking apple sauce, but it doesn't taste bad.  It's basically like foaming Drano for your insides.  It expands and as it moves through, it takes all the gunk with it.  There are other things you can put in it to improve it's effectiveness, but I've pretty much just stuck with the psyllium husk.

It won't make you have to go, it just gets more gunk out when you do.  You can't use it if you're constipated because it can make things worse, but if you're regular, it is very effective.  Not to get too gross, but your poop will have the shape of your intestines and some people have had some weird crap (no pun intended) come out that's been stuck in there since grade school (crayons, pennies, etc)  I didn't have anything like that, but I did lose about 5 pounds the first time and I felt a lot better.  It will also help your body absorb nutrients better to unclog the pipes.

I've done Blue Print Cleanse and I really liked it. I'm going to do it again. I didn't lose weight, and that wasn't the intention, but I felt really, really healthy after it was over. I definitely continued being healthy afterwards. It makes you think twice about anything processed. Just my two cents!
