I was watching MTV's True Life documentary shorts series and the episode was about newlywed couples...and I think it was interesting to watch, but the couple that got my mind jogging the most was the super-Christian Southern couple who planned to save everything - including their first kiss - until their wedding day!
I respect beliefs, but wow...that's dedication!
They said they didn't want to kiss on the lips because they didn't want temptation to arise!
Has anyone else seen this? Thoughts?
Re: True Life: I'm a Newlywed
btw, that IS dedication
It's not just a Southern Christian thing, or something fundies thing. It is a total christian thing. I've had a few friends actual do this. It's a christian courting practice that takes the physical aspect out of a relationship out until the union of marriage. It makes you really get to the person on an emotional level. You spend more time with friends, family, and church. My friends that have done it say it was the best choice in the world for them and it brought them together in a more deeper and committed way then they ever could have.
Sorry the Christian in the group got a little offended, but I just thought I would fully explain what they were doing.
It takes dedication and a lot of self control!!

I felt a little bad for the couple as sometimes the first time you kiss someone ... it can be a private moment - they had it flimed and on north american tv (The Learning channel)
