RSVP Postage Question

Does the reply RSVP require the normal postage stamp?

I am guessing you cannot use a postcard stamp?  (32 cents vs. 45)

I am sitting here going thru the logistics of postage I will need for STDs, Invites, Replies and Thank yous and just wondering what I can and cannot get away with.  With as much as I will be using between all of them, I'd like to get the forever stamps before it goes up.

TIA
S'mores. Just S'mores please.

Re: RSVP Postage Question

  • I second what snippet said. I will be going to the Post Office tomorrow to have my STDs weighed. Mine should only be postcard stamps bc I ordered postcards, but we'll see. If they are smaller RSVP cards, I don't think you'll need the full $.45.

Stina - you ordered postcard STDs?  For some reason I thought you were doing magnets.  We were thinking of doing postcards, but I worry that they will get grungy in the mail.  What are your thoughts?  (Postcards are like 25% of the cost on VP, so the cost is making me want to go for the postcards).

VP sends envelopes with them :) So they are postcard size, but in an envelope.

  • Hm, I don't know, but I think if it has an outer envelope, it always needs standard stamps.

Is there any way you can just use the postcard portion since it is postcard sized without the envelope? It will get semi-icky in the mail, but postage can get expensive! (Says the girl who sent out save the dates with holiday cards to save on postage)

<div> LOL on the holiday and save the date mailing - I would have done the same!   I like the postcard idea.  I wonder if there is a way to design it so that not much info is present to protect everyone.  Maybe one of those invisible ink pens and that way I can number them and correspond them to my list and that way I will know?  I gotta keep thinking about this one</div>

RSVPs normally don't hold a lot of info. Just the names of who the card is from, yes attending, or no not attending, and maybe a meat selection. So I don't see a problem with protecting anyone.

I will be ordering one of those pens too since so many people on our list have the same last name and it'll just be easier to keep organized.

  • Stina - I think McSteph was talking about the information that would be on a postcard (the date, pics, full names of the couples, etc).
