MIA for a while - Lots of?'s so please help!

Hi girls! I've been out of town and working a lot so I haven't been able to post/comment in a while. I'm back in wedding mode and trying to really knock out some big checks on my list. I figured rather than posting lots of small posts I figured I should just do one:

1. Wedding Dress: I've tried on lots of dresses and I keep going back to one. So I'm pretty sure I'm going to pick this one. How much money can I expect to pay in alterations?

2. Lighting: I really want to have lanterns hanging during reception (its outdoors). Is there a company I can use for uplighting & lanterns? Or is that something I am going to need to do myself? How do I know how much light is produced by one lantern, aka how do I know how many I need?

3. Flowers: They are driving me crazy! Is $850 a lot to be charged for 10 centerpieces of white hydrangeas, purple carnations, yellow button mums and tropical greens? I have no idea what flowers cost and I dont want to be ripped off.

4. Invitations: Has anyone used weddingpaperdivas.com? I'm thinking of using them but I dont know too much about them. I've heard some good things. Are they good quality?

5. Registry: when did you being to register? At what month did you start to do it?

Thanks girls!! I know its a lot but I figured this would be easier.

    Here goes! :)

    1. Wedding Dress: I've tried on lots of dresses and I keep going back to one. So I'm pretty sure I'm going to pick this one. How much money can I expect to pay in alterations? My alterations were included but I've heard up to around $500..might be totally wrong though!

    2. Lighting: I really want to have lanterns hanging during reception (its outdoors). Is there a company I can use for uplighting & lanterns? Or is that something I am going to need to do myself? How do I know how much light is produced by one lantern, aka how do I know how many I need? Try Uplyte Event Lighting & Decor, otherwise you could probably just rent the lanterns and hang them on shephard hooks. I think someone was selling some a few posts back, maybe ask them how they used them.

    3. Flowers: They are driving me crazy! Is $850 a lot to be charged for 10 centerpieces of white hydrangeas, purple carnations, yellow button mums and tropical greens? I have no idea what flowers cost and I dont want to be ripped off.
I think that's a pretty good deal from what I've heard but it really depends on how large your cp's are.

    4. Invitations: Has anyone used weddingpaperdivas.com? I'm thinking of using them but I dont know too much about them. I've heard some good things. Are they good quality? I've never read negative things about WPD. All knotties who have used them here have given good revieews. Hopefully one of them will share their experience!

    5. Registry: when did you being to register? At what month did you start to do it? You can register whenever you want to as long as it's ready in time for your shower and gives guests enough time to browse and choose. I am planning to register before September since my bridal shower will be in November.

I'm just responding to the stuff I know something about.....

Lighting: I agree with Uplyte. They are hanging some chandeliers in our tent. Are you using a DOC because they might be able to hang some lanterns (if its not crazy dangerous) and then you just pay for lighting.

Invitations: I used Wedding paper divas for our STD's and were very happy but I don't know anything about there wedding invitations. Can you order a sample?

Registry: Go register... We did it like 2-3 months ago. It def was more of an under taking than I thought it would be

Cant answer this yet

    2. Lighting: I really want to have lanterns hanging during reception (its outdoors). Is there a company I can use for uplighting & lanterns? Or is that something I am going to need to do myself? How do I know how much light is produced by one lantern, aka how do I know how many I need? I would go with uplyte too. Unless your venue has a preferred list that they always work with.

    3. Flowers: They are driving me crazy! Is $850 a lot to be charged for 10 centerpieces of white hydrangeas, purple carnations, yellow button mums and tropical greens? I have no idea what flowers cost and I dont want to be ripped off. I am meeting with a florist this weekend.....  Ill let you know

    4. Invitations: Has anyone used weddingpaperdivas.com? I'm thinking of using them but I dont know too much about them. I've heard some good things. Are they good quality? I am doing my own

    5. Registry: when did you being to register? At what month did you start to do it?
I registered at a Bridal show and have been adding things online... I love to sit and look online at stuff. I can look at the reviews too...

Thanks girls!! I know its a lot but I figured this would be easier.
