09.24.11 Wedding Day Reviews :)

Our wedding day was amazing!!!!  All of the knotties' reviews had helped me so much in planning, so I hope my reviews can do the same!

Caesars Palace/Juno Garden: A

We stayed at Caesars Friday and received Saturday night free in our wedding package.  They upgraded our room Friday night so we wouldn't have to change rooms in the morning, which was awesome!  Melissa Thomas was our Wedding Coordinator.  She was fabulous about answering questions and returning emails within 24 hours.  The Juno Garden was beautiful!  We had about 75 guests and it was just perfect.

Glamsquad: A+

James and his assistants got in and got out!  They are incredible at what they do.  I swear I looked like a celebrity (pics to follow).  I had a minor meltdown just moments before they came.  I took my wedding dress out of the garment bag to discover that the bottom of my dress was BLACK with dirt!!!!!  It must have happened while carrying/dragging my dress from the parking lots into the hotels :(  I discovered this approximately 30 seconds before James and crew arrived.  Once James saw my dress, he immediately got on the phone and called his seamstress who told him to soak my train in cold soapy water and scrub the stains out.  I was hesitant, but at this point would try anything.  James' assistant as well as one of my friends took my dress and got on their hands and knees and started scrubbing their little hearts out.  Once they were finished, you could not even tell it was dirty to begin with!  They were a lifesaver!  Not only did they make me and my MOH beautiful on my wedding day, but they also made my dress look beautiful too :)

Double Decker Bus of Las Vegas: A

Mike was easy to deal with and returned my phone calls promptly.  We tried to meet him a couple days before to drop off beer/water, but he was running late.  He told me to just leave the beverages/cash for ice in one of the DD buses and he would make sure to get it put on ice and ready for our big day.  I was a little hesitant, but did so and everything turned out great!  The guests loved the bus ride!  I should mention that during our whole 5 days in Vegas it rained only once.  This just happened to be while my guests were on the DD bus.  It DOWNPOURED for about 15 minutes!  There are no covers on the tops of the DD buses, so needless to say, the guests on the top were SOAKED!!!!!!  The driver mentioned he had not seen anything like this in the 20 years he has lived in Las Vegas!  Everyone had a good attitude about the whole thing; and there was a rainbow afterwards :)

Bell Trans Limo: A

The wedding party took the limo for pictures while the guests rode the DD bus to the reception.  We stayed dry!!!!!  The limo was on time and dropped us off at Cosmo, Paris, and finally the reception.  No complaints!

Todd Wilson-Bentley & Wilson Photography: A

We had a little trouble locating Todd.  He told me he would meet us by the Juno Garden right after the ceremony.  About a half hour after the ceremony and still no Todd, I started to get worried.  My friend had my cell phone and after numerous attempts at trying to locate her, I finally got in touch with her.  She stated that Todd did call and he was running late!  She told him that they were all getting on the DD bus and to meet there.  We trudged from the Juno Garden to the DD bus pick up at Caesars.  Viola!  Toldd was there snapping pictures.  By this time it was time for the DD bus to take off.  Todd asked if we wanted any pics at Caesars, but there was no time, so we went off to Cosmo and Paris.  Todd was very friendly, appreciative and SO good at what he does.  I know he will get some great shots and I am so excited to receive the CD of all the photos!

Maggiano's: A+

We had our reception at Maggiano's!  It was to die for!  Guests raved about the food, stating it was the best meal of their lives!  There was SO. MUCH. FOOD.  I wish I could have given the left overs to a soup kitchen.  We originally only had booked the Abruzzi and the Calabria room, but once our guest list kept climbing, we were already at the minimum for all 3, so got the Dicarlo room too.  It worked out fabulous, because there was plenty of room to dance.  Cassy and Sabrina were dolls to work with.  Always answering questions and on top of everything.  I would definitely tell anyone who is thinking of Maggiano's to book them; you will NOT be dissapointed!

Freeds Bakery: A-

Freeds is Maggiano's preferred vendor.  We went through them.  I thought their prices were pretty high.  Our cake (bottom layer white with amaretto cream, middle layer chocolate with raspberry filling, and top layer red velvet) that was to feed 75 people cost $700.  Maybe it's just me, but at almost $10 per slice, I thought that was a bit steep.  Other than that, the cake did look A M A Z I  N G!  It tasted delicious and did I mention it looked amazing?

All Night Long DJ service: B+

The DJ showed up on time (I think his name was Austin?).  He did play the songs requested for the first dance, father daughter, etc. but I did not feel like he got the crowd going as much as he could have.  Don't get me wrong, people danced, but I had requested a lot of Michael Jackson (he played 2 songs) and Elvis because we are in Las Vegas!!!  But, he played no Elvis what-so-ever.  I also upgraded to the LED lights, but could see no difference than any other DJ lighting at any other wedding.  For those who are thinking of upgrading, I would advise against it...save the $100 bucks!

I hope that I am not forgetting anything!!!  Hope this is some help to you ladies :)
