Beach House Wedding?

I just got engaged and my fiance and I were thinking about a Beach House Wedding, ie getting married on the beach outside the house then going inside for dinner/reception.  Has anyone done this?? How did catering/ceremony rentals work out? Are there good beaches to recommend?  We're currently living in Phoenix, AZ but have some great memories from Bonita Springs and wanted to get back to Florida for the wedding.  We're not stuck on a Beach House wedding, but we don't want to do anything too fancy/resort-ish.  Any suggestions would be great!!  Thanks!

Does it matter where you want to get married? Do you have a city in FL in mind?
You can always rent a house on the beach, of course, if you don't have too many guests. Here on Anna Maria we have Beach House and Sandbar restaurants, you get married on the beach and you can have your reception inside or outside.

I second the Sandbar. It is my wedding venue.

My wedding is next week at the Sandbar!  Patti is AMAZING over there and so helpful!  I would highly recommend doing the beach wedding at the Sandbar and then have youru guests stay at the various hotel, inn and beach house accomodations on AMI!!

Thanks for the suggestions!  I'd looked at the Sandbar's website and it didn't wow me, but with all the positive review I'll have to check it out.

Something we checked out that is just INCREDIBLY cool is North Captiva Island.  You have to take a boat (or a plane!) to get there and use island golf carts to get around!  The homes are STUNNING and wayyyyy more affordable than you might think.  Homes sleep 6 - 16, and often break down to less than $75 per person per night.  Jeff Pence at the North Captiva Island Club is very helpful.  Check out houses at northcaptiva.com.

This sounds perfect. Do you know about how much per person or approx cost. for approx 50-60 guest?
