depends on the type of cookie. If it's a russian tea cookie or a peanut butter blossom, those have to be rolled. If it's oatmeal or chocolate chip, I use two spoons and go for the rustic look. I've never used a cookie scoop.
Cookie scoop, period. And I only make drop cookies, unless Candi and I have a different definition. (I grew up that "drop" cookies are ones you "drop" on the sheets, like chocolate chip or peanut butter.) I even modified a sugar cookie recipe so I didn't have to do all that annoying chilling and rolling.
But I hate getting anything on my hands. I use scoops for meatballs, too, and I have thought about buying a giant disher for hamburgers, but since you'd still have to flatten them, it's not really worth it.

<div>I consider drop cookies ones that are a loose batter or you dont GAF how they look. Like those oatmeal peanut butter no bake ones.</div><div> </div><div>I also don't like getting things on my hands when cooking. I wear food grade gloves when making meatballs.</div>
See, I LOVE getting my hands dirty. I just made some luscious meatballs last night and my hands were co.vered in it. The only annoying thing is stopping to wash them off every so often so the food doesn't stick so much.
That said, I typically use spoons because it's faster and they usually end up somewhat round anyway.
i use a disher for cookies and for meatballs. i cook my meatballs in the sauce so they don't get flat. that is the worst.
i use a disher for peanut butter cookies. i just flatten them with a fork.
i don't ming getting my hands dirty, but i like my cookies to be consistent for baking purposes. however, i have serious problems watching food network when i see people diving into the food with their rings on -- that is a bacteria farm up in there.

<div>YES! I have tried explaining this to my sister a million times.</div>
I use my hands for any cooking I can. Meatballs, cookies, whatever. I do take my rings off though. That would be gross. I also wash my hands before diving in and any time i touch any packaging.
