Babies??

Ok, so not EXACTLY wedding related, but Im pretty sure its the next thing on most of our minds after the wedding is over. Its definitely honey moon related ;P

So what of it ladies? Anyone planning on getting preggers asap, or are you holding off for a few years of wedded bliss before adding any bambinos into the mix?

I personally want them NOW, lol. But my maternal instinct has been pretty strong for a few years, and after a miscarriage last year, its no surprise Im raring to go. We will still probably wait a year before adding any little ones to the family, mainly because we're renting right now and want to own a house first. We'll see how it goes though! If I have my way, it will be sooner ;D

We're holding off. We think that waiting a while is the best decision for us because of FI's career. We'd like to be closer to the end of his service so that our children don't have to spend a lot of their time growing up without him home.... not to mention how difficult it can be raising children as a pseudo-single parent (I have so much respect for the single parents out there, but I hope that I never have to be one!). We have a dog and a horse, so we're going to stick with our furbabies for now, unless God has other plans that prevail.

We really do hope to have kids once he's closer to his end of service date... we both really want children!

I want to start having them about a year after being married but I finally got into the talk with FI a few weeks ago and he said he was thinking more like a year and a half or SO. We finally compromised with "We'll see how it goes around that time and how life is treating us." lol

Before I am 30 is the goal....I will be 26 at the time of the wedding, so probably wait at least 2 years, hoping to be in a better place financially and careerwise. Want to have stability before adding kids plus I have custody of my nephew, and until he goes back to his parents we have him...best case scenerio he goes home in july, worst case scenerio he stays with us until he becomes CCO'd (custody court ordered) in which case we will persue adopting him.

I really wanna wait a few years. Chris would take one NOW! LOL he has baby fever. its crazy. I never ever even wanted kids. But now I would like to have one child with my almost husband. We would make a really pretty baby

well, thats what A LOT of people tell us, even strangers!! Haha! But I wanna enjoy being married for a while before our life gets flipped upside down

My birth control is up in October, when I go for my annual I don't plan to ask for another prescription. We'll evaluate then.

We were going to try this summer, but the more I am around his nephew...I change my mind and want to wait another year. LOL

We both keep flip flopping depending whos child we are around. I think we will try when we stop flip flopping. I just want to align everything with the school year though since I am a teacher, but I guess whatever happens happens.

My career for at least the next three years is going to be VERY demanding. Unfortunately I'll be 30 this fall and we want to have 4 kids so we may have to start during residency. Still, don't plan on it for at least two years post wedding. Yay Mirena!

We're both in our mid 30's, my IUD has to come out at the end of this month, so we've decided to let what happens happen.

We were planning on right away as in a honeymoon baby. But now with FMIL getting worse we may put it off until things calm down with her and we know more about whats going on.

We're ready. I'm on depo and just had my last shot a few weeks ago. Hopefully my body won't take too long to get back to normal. So hopefully this summer we can start trying. We're in our mid 30s so I don't want to wait much longer.

I already have a baby and I want more! My son is not biologically my FI's, and will be turning 4 in August. I really don't want a huge age gap between him and any other kiddos. Lately I've been thinking that I'd be okay with just one more, though I previously wanted a large family.

I'm hoping to start a dual master's degree program in the fall which will last two years. I'm hoping we start after that. We'll both be 29 which sounds good to us!

Even though I'm already 33 and FI is 30, we are going to wait for about 2 years before we start thinking about it... We are both very career-oriented and are (probably - fingers crossed!) moving to NYC next year, so babies aren't in the plan for at least a little while, though I think getting pregnant by 35 would be best (at least according to my doc!).

We have yet to decide if kids are a definite for us, but if we have them , we're aiming for the 5 year mark. In 5yrs, FI will be 30 and I'll be 31, so I don't want to wait much longer than that. I only started birth control a few months ago, and that was just to help me manage my unbearable period. I wasn't getting pregnant before the BC, but I'm afraid it will jump start my ovaries when I stop taking it. I figure I'll stay on BC for the first 6 months of marriage, let nature take it's course from there, and start fertility treatment at 5yrs if we haven't gotten pregnant yet.

We will probably wait at least 6 months before we discuss or start trying, but for sure going to start trying by the 1 year mark!

We will wait a year or so. When I was younger I wanted them by this age, but the older I get (just turned 30) the more I want to wait. We want to do a bit of traveling and enjoy a little more time with just the two of us.

We're not planning to have kids right away, but we're not going to NOT try. I already know of some fertility issues that I'm going to have, so we figured that we'll work on getting me in proper shape, and if a baby happens in the process then that's amazing, but if not that's OK, too. We're not in a rush, but I do want to try to have my first by the time I'm 30.

This is same for us. We turn 30 next year, and although when I was younger it was my "oh my gosh, I must have a kid by 30!" age, now we want to enjoy some time just the two of us first. I also want to change jobs after the wedding, so I want some time to get settled in a new career.

FI and I are in our 30s (37 and 32), 1st marriage, no kids. I have a stable career with great benefits including maternity leave.

discussion in the car last night-
Me (as we drive past a llama farm): Let's get a llama, i want a llama.
FI: we don't have room for a llama.
Me: Okay, let's get a dog.
FI: I thought we didn't want a dog right now (we have three cats)
Me: Baby?
FI: I figured that's where you were headed. I think we should recover a little more from my not working (he was out of work from nov-feb).
Me: So, no on the baby.
FI: I didn't say that. Are we ready?
Me: I am. You?
FI: You know I want a baby...

I don't want morning sickness on my wedding day or we'd be trying next week.

If I were younger, I'd want to wait but I'm 32, want several children, and have been wanting to have a baby since I was 26. I am beyond ready!

We are planning to try to get pregnant right away. I think with getting to be around my niece it has caused my FI to want babies more, opposed to not any. I think he is more excited about when they are toddlers though. babies themselves freak him out a little
