Band or DJ?

I just got engaged and I haven't decided all the details for my wedding yet. I'm hoping to have 75100 at my wedding should I hire a band or DJ? I need pros and cons

    I hired a ceremony musician, a second line band, so it seemed excessive to hire another band just to play two hours of the reception.  It was definitely more cost efficient to have a DJ and people had lots of fun.

    I am having a string quartet at the church and a DJ at the reception.  We will also have a second line band briefly at the reception (since we just have a number of out of town guests).  A live band seemed like overkill.  The second line band will play for about 30 minutes, and the DJ will play for the rest.

    We did a DJ for the cocktail "hour" and then we hired Rebirth Brass Band for our reception and Second Line.  Best decision ever.
