Hey Ladies

Im back!! Missed you guys.... Ahh im going cake testing tomorrow so I thought it would only be right to do a topic of food for this weekend lol...


This weekends topic is FOOD:

So what kind of food are you having on your menu? a little bit of this and little bit of that , im going to have food so that every one can eat something.

Did you pick your foods yet?yeah i did , just hope the venue doesnt update their menu again haha

Are you doing alot of food or a little? eh medium, our families love to eat haha.

Are you having a cater or making it yourself? venue is doing the food.

Are you going to eat alot on your wedding day? im not sure, probably be too nervous haha.

If you had your wedding or already finalized your menu, would there be something you would change? not that i know of.

Are you doing a sit down or buffett?Why did you pick it? buffett, because i want people to choose what they want and put how much they want well think they want lol


Are you doing a sweetheart table or head table? now im changing to a sweetheart table

    So what kind of food are you having on your menu? whew I think we get a large portion of Italy's annual exports with our menu LOL. Just in the cocktail hour there's stuff like proscuitto & melon, tomato & mozzarella, spanakopita, knockworst in puff pastry (pigs in blanket with a fancy name), clams casino, veggie crudite, and then there's a mashed potato bar and seared ahi tuna station.

    Did you pick your foods yet?Yes for entree choices we are doing Breast of Capon (chicken) with risotto rice and mushroom sauce, Filet Mignon with Wine Sauce, and Salmon with Lemon-Caper-Butter Sauce

    Are you doing alot of food or a little? There is soooo much food and I have a little tummy... I hope I get to sample it all.

    Are you having a cater or making it yourself? I like to cook but not that much :-)

    Are you going to eat alot on your wedding day? If I don't, I will be the bridezilla to end all bridezillas.

    If you had your wedding or already finalized your menu, would there be something you would change? No way.

    Are you doing a sit down or buffett?Why did you pick it?Sit down... it was the same price and I'm bound to spill something on my dress if I am shuffling plates around.

    Are you doing a sweetheart table or head table? A modified head table? We're going to sit at a table with us, the matron of honor, best man, and their spouses.  Everyone else will be at nearby tables.  We didn't want to separate all the significant others but the venue doesn't really have a good spot to do everyone at one table.

    So for the sweets...

    Are you having alot of desserts?
    Not really, but our venue does a really nice presentation of the cake with chocolate mousse and chocolate covered strawberries and a small cookie platter...

    When are you going for cake testing? Had two cause I wasn't crazy about the first baker, the second one was a couple weeks ago

    Are you having a big cake? Well we need a piece for all 125-170 guests!

    What flavors did you choose, or are going/wanting to choose? only ones available with our package was chocolate & vanilla so we did that.  We are probably upgrading to cannoli cream filling, and already upgraded with the design that I want.

    How many tiers is the cake going to be? i assume 4 but it will probably depend on my final headcount

    How many tiers would your dream cake be like?  4 like the pic I guess

    Do you have any pictures of the cake?
     This only with navy and flowers to match all the rest of the wedding stuff.

    yeah im glad since im doing the buffett the head table is going to be served so i wont worry about spilling anything because i know i will.lol

    So what kind of food are you having on your menu? I only know a few because we haven't done an official tasting yet. I know we'll have vegetable egg rolls, pasta stations, carving stations, scallops wrapped in bacon, stuff mushrooms...

    Did you pick your foods yet?No, but we are def. doing the brown sugar-dijon glazed salmon, and we're doing a beef, chicken, and veggie dish

    Are you doing alot of food or a little? I personally think it's a lot. For a wedding, I'd say it's medium

    Are you doing a sit down or buffett?Why did you pick it?Sit down... no offense to people who are doing buffets but I just don't like the idea of it. I like that people are serving my guests. What's nice about my venue is that the guests can have as many dishes as they want. So it's like a buffet in the respect that people can eat as much as they want but it's being served to them.

    Are you doing a sweetheart table or head table? Sweetheart. We want our BP to sit with their SOs and it's the only time where FI and I will have "our" time.

    Are you having alot of desserts?
    The venue proivdes assorted pastries for each table and we'll have the cake.

    When are you going for cake testing? Already had it. We went to 13 bakeries lol. It was fun and why the hell not if you're getting free cake!

    Are you having a big cake? Pretty decent size.

    What flavors did you choose, or are going/wanting to choose? orange cake with champagne peach bavarian cream filling and vanilla bavarian cream filling. The other tier will be chocolate cake with baileys vanilla bavarian cream. mmmmmm I CAN'T WAIT TO EAT IT!!!

    How many tiers is the cake going to be? 3-4

    How many tiers would your dream cake be like?  4

    Do you have any pictures of the cake?  Like this but with green orchids in the corners

    Are you doing alot of food or a little? I think its a lot.  10 hor d'ouerves, three entree choices, all the sides, and dessert table

    Are you going to eat alot on your wedding day? Prob not.  I have major stomach issues, and if I overeat I will feel miserable all night.

    Are you doing a sit down or buffett?Why did you pick it?Serving stations.  FI was way against plated meals, because he is a big guy and always feels like he never gets full at other weddings when its plated.  Plus, he said it takes too long, and will just delay the partying.  Also we have some vegans and people with special dietary needs, so we won't have to offer special meals.

    What flavors did you choose, or are going/wanting to choose? choc chip pound cake.  Probably going to need to order a special little cake for me.  My doctor has recently made me go "gluten- free" so I can't eat anything with wheat in it.

    So what kind of food are you having on your menu? A lot of food that is soooo good!  Apps:  spanekopita, pigs in a blanket, teriyaki chicken, beef satay, spring rolls, and somethign else that is escaping my mind.  Our dinner entrees are Chicken marsala, london broil, seared atlantic salmon, and pasta primavera as a vegetarian option.

    Did you pick your foods yet?yes I did, and I am so happy.  I left out tasting so full!

    I'm having my reception at the Merion and the amount and array of food they have is amazing.  The cocktail hour will have everything from pasta stations, stir fry stations, a mini gyro station, 15 types of passed appetizers and a seafood display.....and some other things I'm forgetting.  Dinner has soup, salad, intermezzo and guests have a choice of fish, chicken, beef and veggie dish (we haven't picked the specific plates yet)

I don't think so.  I think I'll nibble.  I have way too many tummy issues and eating the wrong thing could ruin the day.  Instead I'm asking the Merion to make a ton of take out boxes of everything at the wedding for my fiance and I to take back to the hotel suite.  I figure we can snack!

    So what kind of food are you having on your menu? Cocktail hr will be a combo of many things: seafood, chicken, beef, etc. We are also having stations that consist of different cheeses, dips, fruits, veggies, a pasta statio + a carving station. The menu will be a choice between chicken, steak + a vegetarian entree. 

    Did you pick your foods yet? A lot of it comes w/the package but we want to switch out an our dourve or two and switch our chicken with a better chicken

    Are you doing alot of food or a little? I think our food is a lot, not as much as some weddings I've been to but it should keep everyone pretty full

    well it's 3 tiers so I guess that's big. It will serve about 120 people

    Are you going to eat alot on your wedding day? I hope so! I always hear from people oh I barely ate at my wedding. FI and I are making a point to sit down and eat and we will mingle with guests after.

    Are you doing a sweetheart table or head table? Yes. At first we were really against it until we went to a wedding in few months back. Long story short I was in the wedding and got to sit with FI since they did a sweatheart table. We had so much more fun being able to sitting together and the couple was able to have that little bit of time by themselves.

    Not really just cake and then there will be a platter of Italian desserts and cookies at each table.

    What flavors did you choose, or are going/wanting to choose? We did each tier a different flavor, marble cake with mocha filling, vanilla cake with chocolate filling, then chocolate chip cake with mocha filling and then buttercream icing on the outside.

    Imparlett one of my best friends is also gluten-free. She was diagnosed in college. At her wedding she only ate the icing :(

    yummm yum all the foods sound soo delicous, oh cake testing was kinda a bust the cake was a bit dry and the flavors were not exciting at all. so im going to see if i can find another baker because i dont want to just settle just because .... ugh..

    lmparlet - Both Christine's in Northfield and Mr. Ritt's in Millville make gluten free cakes.

    A variety of things. There is a lot of meat.

    Yes. Main dish is a duet plate, prime rib & free range chicken with peppercorn brandy sauce & provencal vinaigrette

    I'm going to try. Wearing a corset impacts how much a person can eat.
